The ritual that changed my life ???

The ritual that changed my life ???

Ok, so I have a ritual that I have followed for over, I would say coming on a year now. It’s a ritual that I encourage and help my clients adopt to become less overwhelmed and to feel on top of their sh*t.

It’s a ritual that significantly improves my productivity and efficiency during the week and helps me to understand where to slot everything I need to do in to the week, and how to make time for the things I love to do, like painting, drinking cucumber cold brews at our local bougie cafe and practicing my new spiritual learnings on an unimpressed Antoine.

This ritual is so simple and has literally changed the way I roll into Monday’s and that is; Sunday planning sessions.

Sunday planning sessions have no specific rules, all my clients approach them differently, but here’s what mine looks like;

Step 1:

I go sit in my office, light a candle or turn on my diffuser with a blend of lavender, geranium and mint. I close all the windows and doors so there is no noise and Nikon comes and curls up on my meditation cushion with me. Then I put on my favourite playlist, right now it’s a?beach chill mix - sometimes it’s my?Morning Dance playlist ?( more on that another day )

Step 2:

I prepare 3 things:

  1. My?Women Warrior ?week view planner
  2. My white board
  3. My notepad

Step 3:

Now pay attention to this, because it’s important. I do things in a very specific order next and it’s on purpose.

  1. Firstly I grab my white board and write out the intention for the next week, this might be something like “Be playful and open to receive new opportunities”.
  2. Next on the white board I write out the top priority items for the week using the ABC framework.?Here’s an episode on how I use it ?and?here’s a template to use it yourself.
  3. Once I have all that down, I grab my week view planner and my google calendar and I start to write down all the meetings I have in there. The purpose of this is to understand where the gaps are to slot in my priority items.
  4. Next I fill in the gaps with all my priority items. For example on a Monday I take that full day off for content, no calls- so that Monday column is always full with recording podcasts, writing newsletters and creating social media posts.
  5. Finally, I take my notepad and write ‘Monday + date’ then I write out the ABC’s for that day on my to do list, plus any life stuff or ‘distractions’ I need to do too.

The goal here is to make it a nice part of your Sunday evening.

Creating the space, the nice music, the smells, the chill vibes- really getting yourself prepared and relaxed for the week ahead. That is the beauty of the Sunday Planning Ritual.

Make it a ‘thing’ and you’ll never be rushing through your weeks again.

Love all the small details and saved the playlists for future use :-) Might be for weekly planning or might be for a cheeky aperitivo.
