Risks which teach you life.

Risks which teach you life.

You know, you’re standing there thinking, “How, in fucking hell, did I come here? “"What made me stand in a place where I have nobody?”

Being somewhere where everything feels against you

The steep slope of the road, the water in your bathtub, heck! even the wind.

This is the feeling you would get every time you showed the courage to take risks.

The risk of asking you to… whole yourself

Ask for a piece of yourself.

And then ask yourself which part of you is shining brightly in the beauty of its comfort zone.

A lot of times, the reason we end up choosing the safe path is that it’s very familiar.

We have been there, we know how it is, and we know what the worst feels like. You have done it before, and you will be able to do it again.

But when you take a risk, you have no idea about the depth of the swimming pool you’re dipping your toes in.

You have no idea what will happen once you jump in; you don’t know if you will be able to handle the pressure of the water surrounding you; you may even start questioning your swimming skills.

That’s why a warm blanket under our chin with a cup of hot chocolate feels like a safe haven.

And out of nowhere, when you’re in the perfect position to watch your favourite show and now you have to pee, it’s like taking the risk of not being able to find this body position again, where everything is aligned and your neck isn’t hurting.

I am not sure if this is a good point to make when talking about something as serious as life.

But again, life will throw you some situations where you have to take risks.

Often, risk comes with little to no loss; my family would be there for me, my friends would not abandon me, and no one would know…I can do it.

And sometimes you would face family members who were against you; no one was ready to believe in you, and you were kind of fine with that in your heart because, heck! You aren’t even ready to believe in yourself at this point.

But you still do.

Because you think you deserve the love you are providing yourself with.

And it is at this point that you keep something as important as family and friends in your wisdom's sea-saw.

One side is the place where you wouldn’t have to explain anything to anyone, where people trust you and don’t call you crazy.

And on the other side is just a voice, a silent voice that says, "I need you to believe in me... " This time, you will never get this chance again; Just trust me once, and maybe we will make it work!”

And this time, you choose the silent voice over the yelling of others and your own comfort zone.

You decide to choose the small, foggy path instead of the very clear space where you have been living.

And this is when you ask yourself, “Is whatever I’m thinking… worth hurting so many people?”

And you hear a positive answer from an invisible little light in this dark room, which makes you feel alive.

Being able to take risks and stick with them, choosing yourself over others and your comfort zone, choosing the hard path where things would probably kick you in the bum,

You still go ahead and listen to that once familiar voice that keeps repeating itself in your head, and now you’re done. You’re done ghosting yourself, just when you needed it most.

You understand that the family just needs to know you’re safe wherever you are.

You cram in two extra hours to demonstrate that whatever you believe in is worth believing in.

And there is nothing you would not do for the sake of this one dream.

You are not ready to leave everything and take this risk for yourself, and just yourself, not because you’re selfish but because you think you deserve this hope.

You deserve to expect that the right things are for you, and if only you can dedicate yourself well enough.

It would be with you all of your life.

Take care and keep taking calculated risks.
