Risk:Friend or foe?

We tend to view risk in a negative light. Yet progress is often the reward for taking risks. In reality, finding a completely risk-free path to achieve our goals is a rare feat.

The answer is to engage in appropriate risk-taking. Ask yourself: Is the likelihood of success worth the potential upside? And if things don't go as planned, are there other options available to try again?

If you say yes to both those questions, then you've got your answer.

During 2023, for the first time since the official charts were launched in the UK in 1952, female artists spent more weeks at No 1 than their male counterparts with 11 songs accumulating more than 100 million audio and video streams in the UK. Yet in the same year, many of the UK's top music festivals - including Glastonbury - had all-male headline acts. On top of that most of the other slots went to all-male bands or male solo artists. Are festival organisers hesitating to take the 'risk'?
