Have any data that is still needed rendered into a readable archive format that does not require the defunct retired application or software. One of the major lessons to be learned by all orgnisations especially public and national institutions from recent ransomware attack on the British Linrary. They lost access to the majority of the legal deposit digitial only book publications they held.

In addition:not all application data are ment for long term Preservation, it is good you have tools to handle this distinction.
