Risk Management of Chemical Substance Reporting Information #1 - Introduction

Risk Management of Chemical Substance Reporting Information #1 - Introduction

This is the second series of LinkedIn articles that I am writing as part of my PhD research project. The first series of articles focused on the creation of a chemical substance reporting system.

This series of articles assumes you have taken some steps to implement a chemical substance reporting system and the data begins to flow into your organisation.

So what do you do with all this information?, the premise of this series of articles will be to explore how an organisation can apply a range of different risk methodologies / strategies to manage potential business continuity risks, which may arise from the implementation of a chemical substance reporting system.

From the outset, we should be clear that there is no 'one-glove' fits all approach which will arise, rather an organisation will develop a broad range of risk handling methods, based in part on the data from the chemical substance reporting system, but moreover on a range of internal and external influences, and finally the organisation's own risk tolerance level.

Over the coming articles, different risk management approaches will be presented, not just limited to the field of chemical substance reporting information, but from a range of real-world business examples. The aim being to show how risk analysis can logically be applied to the field of chemical substance reporting information. The sequence of articles will be as follows:

  • Article #1 - Introduction
  • Article #2 - What is Risk?
  • Article #3 - Traditional Project Risk Management Models.
  • Article #4 - Environmental Risk Management Models.
  • Article #5 - Engineering Risk Management models.
  • Article #6 - Supply Chain Management Risk Management Models.
  • Article #7 - Information Technology Risk Management Models.
  • Article #8 - Other Risk Management Models.
  • Article #9 - Dealing With The Risk of Increasing Regulation.
  • Article #10 - Conclusions.

I hope you will all enjoy reading this series of articles as I have had writing this series. The results of this series of articles will be published in a whitepaper to be distributed in 2018.

If you would like specific topics to be explored within the risk series, again please let me know.

If any organisation is interested in being interviewed as part of my PhD research project, please feel free to contact me via LinkedIn or via the TICS website. All information will be recorded anonymously, in return I can offer your organisation aid, in the support and design of chemical substance reporting system.
