FM says all credit card payments for foreign tours to be considered under LRS

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman tabled the Finance Bill 2023 on March 24. Over 45 amendments were made to the Finance Bill 2023, which has been passed by the Lok Sabha amid slogan-shouting from #opposition members.

In her speech Sitharaman mentioned that it has come to consideration that payments for foreign tours through credit cards are not being captured under the Liberalised Remittance Scheme (LRS) and they escape tax collection at source.

Is trial run complete on world's highest railway bridge track on Chenab River?

A video showing a train running on a railway bridge is being widely circulated on social media platforms claiming that a trial run has been carried out on the world's highest railway bridge on the Chenab River. The railway bridge between Bakkal and Kauri on the Chenab River is a part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla line of the Indian Railways.

However, an Indian Railways source has confirmed to CNBC-TV18 that the video is fake.

Aviation Secretary Rajiv Bansal had told?CNBC-TV18?that the reserve price for divestment will be decided closer to the date of inviting bids. Sharad Agarwal, CEO of AIR-INDIA ENGINEERING SERVICES LIMITED Services Limited (AIESL) has made a pitch to potential interested bidders calling AIESL a "gold mine".

Agarwal said, “AIESL by itself is a gold mine with highly talented and experienced pool of aircraft maintenance engineers and the current group of technicians and engineers will remain in the company even after the sale.”

In its circular dated June 15, 2022, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) declared it essential for mutual fund subscribers to submit nomination details or a declaration to opt out of the nomination on or after August 1, 2022. The deadline was later pushed out to October 1, 2022.
