FITC Sustainability | ESG Summit 2024: We were honoured to be keynote speakers alongside the Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Head of The Securities and Exchange Commission of Nigeria and many other distinguished speakers at? the Sustainability / ESG Summit 2024 and launch of the FITC Sustainability / ESG institute by FITC Nigeria - “From Vision to Action: Leading with Sustainability & ESG: Building a Sustainable Future and Green Finance.”

RI’s Collaboration with Fusion Group: On the 7th of August 2024, RI announced a collaboration with UK-based asset management Fusion Group to enhance climate risk management for financial institutions. This new collaboration between RI and Fusion Group connects another key component of risk management of the sustainability value chain of bank risk management.

Capacity Building Alliance of Sustainable Investment and IFRS Beijing Seminar – Challenges and Practices in Sustainability Disclosure: A focus on Scope 3 was held on the 22nd of August 2024: RI had the pleasure of presenting at this seminar. It was inspiring to see the growing interest of Africa and our journey towards a green and sustainable future.

Unlocking Business Growth Through Sustainability Reporting Virtual Event: Risk Insights is delighted to co-host a virtual event with PwC Kenya September 2024. An event focused on providing your organisation with cutting-edge insights and strategies for effective reporting.

Rwanda, Tanzania & Uganda Launch

On July 31st, 2024, Risk Insights reached a significant milestone in advancing sustainability practices across Africa with the official launch of ESG GPS? in Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda. This innovative tool, designed to drive sustainability on the continent, now rates listed companies on the Rwanda Stock Exchange Ltd (RSE) , DAR ES SALAAM STOCK EXCHANGE and UGANDA SECURITIES EXCHANGE . This development aligns with RI’s vision to enhance ESG transparency and accountability across Africa.

As we continue to drive sustainability in Africa, we are excited to unveil ESG GPS?, our AI-powered ESG rating tool tailored for Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda. Our innovative ESG GPS? tool is grounded in global best practices and customised according to the country’s local laws and regulations, revolutionising how companies are evaluated in these countries. RI’s Collaboration with Fusion Group

RI proudly announced our partnership with Fusion Group on August 7th, 2024, to enhance climate risk management for African financial institutions. ESG has become a growing focus and a critical component of the day-to-day lending operations of the banking business. Capital and provision management will impact risk assessment for early adopters. With the rise to conscious consumerism, investors and stakeholders have increasingly begun demanding more robust ESG risk management frameworks, thus emphasising the need for reliable ESG strategies based on transparent, consistent and independent ratings and disclosure across the African continent and beyond to guide informed, sustainable investment and credit decisions. Capacity Building Alliance of Sustainable Investment and IFRS Beijing Seminar – Challenges and Practices in Sustainability Disclosure: A focus on Scope 3

RI was pleased to speak on August 22nd, 2024, at the Capacity-building Alliance of Sustainable Investment (CASI) and IFRS Foundation Beijing Seminar. We explored the “Challenges and Practices in Sustainability Disclosure: A focus on Scope 3”. Risk Insights presented on the ESG Reporting Maturity of Issuers listed in Africa. It was highly inspiring to see the initiatives taken by China to drive sustainability and transition to green energy, along with the growing interest in environmental data across the African continent. RI presented the number of companies disclosing their environmental data across the nine listed exchanges. The event was held at the IFRS Foundation Beijing Office and online. It is inspiring to see the initiatives taken in China to drive towards a sustainable green future! We look forward to continuing to see fellow developing nations champion green change.
