RisingWave Labs Newsletter February 2023

It seems like February—the shortest month of all—can pack quite a punch! It’s incredible how many exciting new things we managed to cram into it. We have released version 0.1.16, which included several exciting user-facing changes, but we also got to add on a number of new docs, revamp in-person Singapore meetups, and launch?Streaming Stories,?a series of online events, to name a few.

New Docs and Product Updates

This month, we released v0.1.16. The main user-facing changes in this release include:

• The S3 source connector,?with which users can ingest data in CSV format from S3 buckets.
• Breaking change: Deprecated?CREATE MATERIALIZED SOURCE.?To?create a materialized source, create a table and include the newly added connector settings.
• The?_rw_kafka_timestamp?parameter to show the?timestamps of Kafka messages. Users can now specify the scope of Kafka messages by timestamps.
• Support for the?RETURNING?clause in DML statements.

• Ingest data from MySQL CDC
• Ingest data from PostgreSQL CDC
• View statement progress
• PostgreSQL catalogs and functions supported by RisingWave
