Hello everyone,
As the temperatures continue to rise, it's important to remember the power of trees in reducing the impact of a heatwave. Trees provide shade, absorb carbon dioxide, and release moisture into the air, all of which help to cool the surrounding environment. But how can we maximize the benefits of trees during extreme weather events?
Proper planning with shadow analysis is the key. By analyzing the sun's path and the shadows cast by nearby buildings, we can determine the best locations for planting trees. It's important to consider the type of tree as well, as those with broad leaves and denser foliage provide more shade than those with narrow leaves and sparse foliage. And of course, regular maintenance is essential to ensure that trees continue to thrive and provide maximum benefits.
On another note, with sunny weather comes the opportunity to plan for rainwater harvesting. Rainwater harvesting is a sustainable solution for reducing our reliance on municipal water supplies and can save money on water bills. Here are some steps to get started:

By starting to plan for rainwater harvesting now, you can be prepared for future rain events and make a positive impact on our water management system.
As always, thank you for supporting Ecosupport and our mission to create a more sustainable future. Stay cool and hydrated during these hot days!

1 年Nowadays I see a pattern of re-construction where builders don't care about the trees which were previously present . They just cut the trees in the surroundings & reconstruct the area making the same path of land useful for parking lots. Everyone knows that extreme concrete & cemet gets heat up quickly and they don't cool down until midnight, even we feel hot at night as surface emits heat. Yet there is lack of knowledge in re-construction sector / money binds them using their sustainable skills or lack of interest how critical is the situation around . Its just not about construction sector but in all sectors there must be a complete revolution , whatever we do we imapact our nature. Don't know about 1.5°C temperature increase at the end of this century but from my childhood untill now the temperatures has gone up from 36-37°C locally to 42°C within a span of just 15 years. Climate has already Changed.
