The Rising Demand For Human Written Content: Thanks to AI

A year ago, I was contemplating switching my career. The disruption of AI technology took the world by surprise with its sophisticated capabilities of delivering content for any text prompt. The initial stage of disruption seemed more intimidating and threatening, making human content creators feel powerless. Working in Wibits , a digital marketing company, we could feel the pressure and tension built around delivering superior content much better than what AI could do. We even lost some of our clients with the advent of Open AI’s Chat GPT – probably, the clients assumed they could accomplish all tasks by employing AI. But things took a U-turn after a few months. The clients came back requesting human-written content that provides a personalized touch. What I saw as a potential threat to my career has, in fact, increased the value of human-written content. Let’s take a deep dive into the issues associated with AI-generated text.

The Problems With AI-Generated Content

AI tools churn out all types of content, including crisp social media posts to complex long articles, in a few seconds. While getting your work done with a text prompt may look incredibly easy, the risk of plagiarism looms large. AI generates text in patterns from trained data, which mostly resemble the existing work with no room for new ideas and creativity.

Let’s assume you have created 500 blogs in a week using AI tools for SEO purposes, and simultaneously, you create detailed and well-researched 500 SEO-focused blogs in a year using copywriters. Initially, the AI-generated text may look promising, helping you rank higher for a few days. But as the demand for originality keeps growing, search engines will favor comprehensive write-ups that don’t have any patterns and have original ideas and facts. In the long run, the AI-generated text will damage your reputation, and search engines will flag your site for spam content. On top of all, potential plagiarism issues will crush your domain authority and credibility. I’m certain no one would want that to happen. Please remember, the greater the effort, the sweeter the reward.

As a content curator, I have gone through hundreds of write-ups of our fellow writers. There is rapid change with respect to the content generated before AI and after AI. Like an experienced, professional sculptor who can identify the original and counterfeit statues at a glance, it’s easier to distinguish 100% AI-generated and human-written text. The pattern is evident throughout the write-up, and the ideas lack engagement and personalization. Detectives while solving murder mysteries, when they notice a pattern or find everything perfect, their cognitive sense tells them that there is something not quite right. The same goes true for content writing in this era of AI technology.

Will AI Replace Content Creators?

The popularity of Chat GPT infused a delusion of easily acquiring jobs in the minds of desperate job seekers. At Wibits , we have encountered several eager beavers who sent us content samples generated using AI tools. When we test them personally at our office, their true colors come out in the open. The debate around ‘Will AI replace jobs?’ is drawing so much attention, and the fact is that AI has already replaced mundane jobs. Beware employees whose jobs follow a pattern and do not require critical thinking. AI is absolutely going to weed out commonality, and if you want to escape this harsh reality, you need to rise above the pattern.

While the AI’s threat to content writers’ jobs is minimal, the tech has indisputably placed so much pressure and challenges on writers who care less about doing research and looking beyond the ordinary. It’s time to raise the bar and take a leap that sets you on the path to extraordinary.

Should We Rely On AI In Our Workspace?

Change is inevitable, and every technology redefines the human lifestyle and work environment. Personally, I find AI is hugely beneficial in the work environment we have today. Integrating AI with work will enhance the writing quality and result in a productive workspace. From refining our content to improving the quality of our thoughts, these tools are excellent companions and guides. But each step must be taken cautiously so as not to solely depend on this tech. Please let me know your views in the comments on how AI has changed your workspace.
