Rising to the Challenge
A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about being a problem solver that values the path of acceptance over perfection. This week, the path I seek is that of rising to a challenge. “In actuality, life offers many of these moments, and you will get many such taps on the shoulder,” says Ryan Holiday in his latest book Courage is Calling.??
?How do you know when it is your turn to rise to a challenge instead of acceptance. I have struggled with this very question, and my thoughtful, stoic husband handed me tremendous insight when he gave me this book.??
?To rise to a challenge, it is always important to know that the challenge is in line with your beliefs and inclination. Challenges may be daunting, but if they are not aligned to your destiny, you might find yourself backing out before you start.??
?The truth is that challenges require courage because courage is required for action. Without taking a risk combined with action, courage can be quickly diminished. I think one of the most demanding challenges to face is the status quo. History teaches us that the courage of those who rose above the status quo changed the world into what had previously seemed impossible.??
?Stepping up to act out of courage can also cause fear to rise to the surface. That is a genuine and understandable feeling. Without a doubt, when you act on your courageous thoughts and choose to face the danger of change, the challenge becomes achievable. The results are real, and you become stronger than you ever knew possible.?

?On this Monday, I leave you with one last quote from Ryan Holiday; “The fear you feel is a sign. If courage is never required in your life, you’re living a boring life. Put yourself in the position that demands you leap.”
