Rishi Birgu (Bargav) and the curse

Maharishi Bhrigu cursed Lord Shiva that he will be worshipped in the temples on earth only in the shape of ‘Linga (or formless)’ and not in your real shape. As it turned out to be, although Linga worship was prevelant even then, Lord Shiva was never worshipped in his real human shape.
Superfluously, it may seem that it was a silly spat between the Rishi and the Lord Shiva, but it only advocates the principle that God should not be worshipped in his human shape as he cannot be contained in any image (or shape) and he is also a shapeless spiritual being; form and no form; spirit and body; mind and matter.
Henceforth, Lord (Shiva), sent his son Christ (Lord Vishnu) to spread the principle (among many) that he cannot be worshipped in any image but as an omnipresent, formless being.
On the other hand as the Asians didn’t accept the Christian principle of forgiving the enemies and also His son (Christ), Lord Shiva (Allah) through his prophet Mohammed, started spreading Islam which is based on the age old principle of eye for an eye (revenge).
And that is how the erstwhile Saivism and Vaishnavism refined and matured into Islam and Christianity worldwide. So, it is the same Lord Shiva (Allah/Father) and Lord Vishnu (Lord Christ/Son) being worshipped in different ways in different parts of the world.
