Rise Up, My Dear One

Rise Up, My Dear One

Rise up, my dear one,

From the slumber of your dreams,

Shake off the pain in your chest,

And hear the call of the world, it seems.

The days have been long without you,

Wandering aimless and alone,

Lost in memories of yesterday,

Sadness weighing heavy like a stone.

But now is the time to show yourself,

For we are overwhelmed and lost,

Our souls in our throats, last words on our lips,

Desperately seeking hope at any cost.

So smile to your nation, my dear,

Let your light shine bright and true,

For we crave it more than words can say,

To be uplifted and inspired by you.

Though we are orphaned and neglected,

Pushing through life with no cure in sight,

We walk these roads together,

Guided by your unwavering light.

We dream of you every night,

In words and in our hearts so true,

For you are a part of us for life,

A symbol of all that's good and pure and true.

So please, have pity on us, dear one,

For we are on our knees in need,

And let your message guide us on,

With love and hope as our creed.
