The ability to connect and integrate cloud services from multiple cloud vendors and private cloud is a challenge for businesses. More than half of organizations say that poor integrations with their ecosystem partners and applications take a $500,000 toll on the business every year. And around 25% of organizations struggle to integrate new applications into their IT environment due to cloud integration challenges https://bit.ly/3LJlvBA When customers use multiple cloud vendors to store their data, it exposes more surface for possible cyber-attacks and hence race is on to create a layer of abstraction and automation that can remove the complexity of multicloud. https://bit.ly/3ShfcYr
Difference between Multi-cloud and Hybrid cloud
Multi-cloud term is used when an organization uses cloud computing and storage services from different cloud vendors in a single heterogeneous architecture. While hybrid cloud combines private cloud (on-premises) with a public cloud and allows data, applications to be shared between them. A hybrid cloud becomes multi-cloud when there are more than one public cloud service combined with private cloud resources.
What is Supercloud?
The term ‘Supercloud’ was introduced by 美国康奈尔大学 for the first time. Users can access on-prem and the edge along with multi-clouds using Supercloud. The focus on Supercloud started gaining ground due to the challenges posed by multi-cloud. https://bit.ly/3SdTHYp https://bit.ly/3C7LKOZ
Advantages of Supercloud
Challenges of Supercloud
As per Gartner, more than half of enterprise IT spending in key market segments will shift to the Cloud by 2025. https://gtnr.it/3fl7v59 ?Infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) is forecast to experience the highest end-user spending growth in 2022 at 30.6%, followed by desktop-as-a-service (DaaS) at 26.6% and platform-as-a-service (PaaS) at 26.1%.
The new reality of hybrid workplace is prompting organizations to move away from traditional client computing solutions, such as desktops and other physical in-office tools, and toward DaaS, which is driving spending to reach $2.6 billion in 2022. https://gtnr.it/3SgkzHv
There is a need of an industry wide collaboration to formulate a set of common standards for data sharing in Supercloud. And apply consistent security policies across all organization's applications to create a super abstraction layer which will facilitate faster and easy adoption of Supercloud.
