Rise Strong!

“It Does Not Matter How Many Times You Fall

What Matters most Is How Many Times You Rise”

I will share some real-life experiences. Some are from my experience and some are from friends and colleagues. Every Situation will describe how they fall and how they rise and or overcome the struggling situation.

He was struggling to get an intern; An MNC organized a program in recent past where he represented his University and they were runner-up at that competition. They informed University Career Counselling Center that they have shortlisted some participants and they will attain their Assessment sessions directly for full time Jobs and the participants who were not shortlisted will get a chance to do their intern at that MNC as they believe that they were the cream of the university and that’s why they were sent to represent the University. The poor fellow waited for the MNC to attain his mails but no luck! A month went by and he started filling scared because he needs an intern to complete his graduation. He was offered an intern at a convention hall, he was offered lunch and transport cost (at actual) monthly the amount comes around Taka. 288/month. He was mentally devastated, he was losing hopes, he was losing self-confidence but he kept practicing on how to attain the common interview questions, how to present better, a lot of mirror sessions per day. Suddenly He got a call from an MNC for the position of Territory Sales Manager, he attended the interview sessions and got selected for a full-time job at a reputed MNC! His patience and hard work paid back in full.

He was working in a Real-estate company in sales department; he got the responsibility to take care of the sales of a commercial project. Naturally the sale of commercial projects was low, so he was getting less focus in the team. He observed the environment, the way his seniors work, the way his HOD works and then he planned his action plan. First, he started saying yes to every single sales call he was receiving and was entertaining site visit to every client followed by preparing proposal and sharing it; at time he felt his HOD was bothered signing proposals. And secondly, he also started helping his senior teammates, all and every task and or helps he could have; even bringing printouts to them was included. Gradually the senior colleague started liking him and started appointing him different tasks and roles, he even started working on agreements. The economic situation started to change and the residential project sales started to slowdown as people were not sure whether this is good time to go for bigger personal investment! Meanwhile all the hard labors he put in started to pay back, he was getting good response from customers and within short time he realizes that he is the highest seller now! Not just that he is the one bringing in major cash flows to the company! When he decides to leave, he was the first person received a formal farewell even the Managing Director him self attended the farewell. Mr. MD complimented him and said “Perhaps, people who does good works gets more works cause other starts to depends on him”

He was working in a renown MNC under a HOD who was more of a Manager rather Leader. Teammates were disappointed and was searching for jobs. Mr. HOD mishandled some of his customers. The customer got so annoyed that they stopped giving orders. He as a Sales concern started missing his monthly sales target. Naturally Mr. HOD did not take the responsibility rather started pushing him to bring-in alternative sales from a competitive market. He kept on trying to win sales and kept his patience. Mr. HOD left the organization. New Management came in, new leader discovered his ability and dedicated addition responsibilities and global projects. He put his effort and performed well under new leadership. He received Global Award for highest sales and he was promoted. He was highly praised by managements for his contribution. When he left the organization at that time he was one of the best on board. He left with honor.

He was leader of a big team, he was trying to make things work for everyone. He was taking big steps to change for betterment and was aligning his HOD so that no misunderstanding happens between them. Mr. HOD started checking with his teammates on his performances which is alright but things got gray when Mr. HOD started believing all that teammate was saying without crosschecking with the leader or with other team members. He was given a new role and a new person took the challenge of leading his old team. Around 8-10 months later, Mr. HOD ask him to work on designing new team setup and informed that new person could not fulfill the expectation of the management. However, he designed new setups aligning other senior colleagues and a new Team model was installed. He again was given responsibility of his old team but with a new setup, he got promoted soon after.

Personally, my take out from these stories of experiences are it does not matter how many times you fall, what matters is how you keep your patience and work through difficult situation, how you hold your nerves, how you work on plans to rise.
