Rise and Shine in the Organization

Although skills are vital in the execution of a position, the managerial skills and attitude of executives have become increasingly important in their growth.?During my career as a Head Hunter and executive coach I have discovered three main points which are taken as important by companies and make candidates rise and shine in organizations: 1) Honesty, 2) Service, 3) Innovation.

Honesty: Truth Above All

I remember perfectly when Mayra Ortega, director of the Lucas5, told me: “people can make mistakes;?but it is better to face the bull by the horns and speak things truthfully ”.?It is a reality that the truth always comes out;?and saying it in time makes us free and more apt to generate action plans.?Don't make your good name look stained, at the end of the day it is worth more than gemstones.?On many occasions, colleagues in the commercial area have preferred to hide risk situations from their clients in order to close sales;?however, in the long run its reputation was affected and its sales plummeted. Sound familiar?

Service: Treat Your Customer How You Would Like To Be Treated

Clients can be both commercial and internal.?The golden rule should always be to serve them as we would like them to serve us.?This millennial rule is a mandate that was written thousands of years ago and is still valid in all settings: both professional and personal.?Focusing on the needs of your clients as you would like them to focus on yours is the key differentiating from successful companies.?That moment comes to mind when I was choosing a university and the career director of Tecnológico de Monterrey asked me: What is your most important concern in this choice??This got my attention.?She was taking an interest in my concern, not just her sale.?This point is extremely attractive for companies.

Innovation: Don't Settle For This Time Renew Your Mind

It is those people who are willing to take a risk to get out of the status quo and innovate that companies are wanting to capture.?A person who does things out of habit is no longer efficient within an organization.?A candidate comes to mind who developed a change in the commercial and channel strategy in his company;?This involves an entire organizational change in the way of managing the commercial development of the company and the industry.?This candidate immediately caught my attention as he changed the way of thinking of his organization and this in turn generated that they will change the way they execute their strategies.?In other words, executives who seek to generate root organizational changes to develop people and take them to a higher level are the most attractive to companies.??

Always remember these 3 points in your professional career and I can assure you that your growth and development will have the best possibilities.?Having these principles of life tattooed in your mind and actions will generate a good name.?Every company looks for honest, helpful, and innovative people within them.?Are you willing to start being a light within organizations and generate the changes so that it shines??Rise and Shine!
