Rise of N-type: Monthly bidding for N-type exceeds 10GW

Since 2023, N-type products have been making an unprecedented impact on traditional markets and sales. A substantial impact is being made on the bidding market by N-type products, particularly in industry bidding and procurement.

According to media (bjx.com), statistics indicate that centralized procurement bidding for photovoltaic modules has reached approximately 250GW between January and October 2023. In particular, the bidding scale for N-type modules has surpassed 84GW, or one-third of the total.

As illustrated in the figure, the bidding for N-type modules has surged significantly in the second half of the year. The bidding scale for N-type modules exceeded 10GW in August, September, and October, a significant sign of the trend toward N-type cells replacing P-type cells.

It's crucial to highlight that DAS Solar stands out prominently among bidding. Using high-quality, high-efficiency products, a significant cost advantage, and a proven track record of reliable performance, DAS Solar excels in terms of projects awarded. With its module product matrix aligned perfectly with the demands of the bidding market, DAS Solar, as a leader in N-type technology, has been successful in winning a number of bidding competitions. In addition to demonstrating DAS Solar's recognition by customers, this also illustrates the competitiveness of N-type modules.

In fact, it is not surprising that the terminal market is undergoing such a transformation. As photovoltaic technology advances, N-type modules are progressively becoming more attractive in terms of efficiency, degradation, and electricity generation. Moreover, N-type modules have gained recognition from a multitude of PV?plant owners through ongoing research, calculation, and practical application. According to data recently released by the National Photovoltaic and Energy Storage Verification Platform (Daqing Base) for H1 2023, TOPCon and IBC technologies outperformed PERC technologies by 0.97 % and 0.39 % in 2022. Compared with PERC technology, TOPCon and IBC technologies generated 1.2% and 0.75 percent more electricity by 2023. The advantage of N-type products in electricity generation increases as operating time increases. As compared to similar products, TOPCon has exceptional electricity generation performance.

According to China Testing & Certification International Group's outdoor testing data from January to April 2023 at the Hainan PV plant with DAS Solar's N-type TOPCon module, N-type modules produce approximately 3.34% more power per watt than P-type modules. Due to their lower power degradation and temperature coefficient, N-type modules generate more power as the ambient temperature increases and time passes.

Furthermore, the substantial increase in N-type module production and sales in 2023 can be attributed to the expanding production capacity of N-type products, notably their capacity to meet the demands of a global customer base. According to statistics from relevant agencies, the planned production capacity for N-type cells could reach 676GW by the end of 2023, with TOPCon technology cells accounting for 84%, reaching 570GW, achieving significant production capacity.

DAS Solar is dedicated to continuous exploration and rigorous research in N-type technology. As a consequence of expanding its advanced products and production capacity, DAS Solar will be able to meet customer delivery requirements while simultaneously reducing production costs and improving efficiency, which further increases its share of the market for N-type products.
