THE RISE OF GREEN ENERGY CHAMPIONS
Luis Ramos
Helping businesses and brands become recognized for their best??Head of Communications ?? Passionate about creating change, encouraging everyone to enter the green energy sector.
15 years ago, I was introduced to?the complexity of fighting Climate?Change at Bombardier Transportation, where we?were?promoting?rail over carbon-intensive road mobility. This was a difficult challenge as it required high investment in new technologies and changes to businesses, deep-routed habits, and policies. There's still much work to be done in the mobility sector.
Today, after?3 years in the energy sector,?I find similar?obstacles. To prevent a climate disaster and democratise the energy sector, there must be a large investment in green energy and a shift?of legacy businesses?to environmentally friendly?ones.?Making?the world greener?is the task of our time.?All sectors, including?private and public?companies, policy makers, and individuals, must act quickly to make change a reality.
Some are moving on
Some firms, like HH2E in Germany, have bold plans for green energy, especially green hydrogen. HH2E combines a clear vision with energy sector expertise and determination to drive change. We hold the conviction that a shift to 100%?green?energy can occur rapidly, as the only lacking?part?is the utilization of all renewable?power generation potential?instead of letting it go to waste.
We're aware that renewable energy?is volatile, leading to surplus production during times of strong sunlight and wind. This excess energy is either wasted or causes damage to the grid by overloading it. To prevent this, we must shut down wind and solar generators or find ways to dissipate the excess energy during these peak times.?It is a significant amount, normally 20% or more of all renewable power?installed capacity is wasted,?we call it?"ghost energy".
The solution is to create "ghostbuster" technology that can utilize surplus renewable?power?to produce green hydrogen. This will boost green hydrogen production and provide the environmentally-friendly molecules required to replace natural gas, and can be produced locally almost anywhere globally. This is especially crucial in countries like Germany which are highly industrialized and lack conventional energy sources. This is exactly what HH2E does.

How does it work??
First,?we have created a technology mix that needs just 4-12?hours of renewable energy input daily to provide a constant supply of green hydrogen and heat throughout the day, with any remaining renewable energy fed back to the grid.
Second,?we sought out locations to implement that technology and act as an economic spur, attracting various other industries and enterprises. Currently, access to green energy is a crucial consideration in the decision-making process of companies and businesses regarding where to locate.
HH2E revamps sites that have undergone structural?change, and we have already pinpointed over 15 ideal sites in Germany with access to pre-existing energy infrastructure and networks. Lubmin in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and Thierbach in Saxony, are two prime examples. By 2025, each of these sites will have an installed capacity of 100MW and produce 6,000 tonnes per annum of green hydrogen, with the aim of increasing this 10-fold by 2030.
We can physically revitalise areas, fortifying partnerships and business practices, whilst making energy more accessible, democratic, and equitable. This is what drives us at HH2E - we are fully committed to?change the game of energy. We are confident that industries and communities will have fresh opportunities to generate, utilise, distribute, and benefit from energy.
HH2E: the new green energy brand
HH2E is a catalyst for change in the green energy sector, a brand?that stands for?harnessing the volatility of sun and wind. With a mission to lead the way in the development of a sustainable and environmentally-friendly energy source, HH2E is poised to become the go-to name in the industry.
Just as Shell is synonymous with oil, HH2E is on a path to be synonymous with green energy.
