The Rise of AI: Highlights from the Latest Competition in the Field
A.I race is well underway and all tech giants especially Big Five (Meta, Amazon, Apple, Microsoft & Google) are preparing to launch their flagship A.I product on war foot. As we all know Chat GPT turn out to be a revolutionary product that set a high bar benchmark and threw a challenge to all the tech titans.
Google launches ChatGPT rival called Bard
It is now Google's turn, Google announced its AI chatbot Bard a rival to OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Bard is built on LaMDA (Language Model for Dialogue Applications) which is Google's existing conversational neural language model.
But Google has got off to an embarrassing start after its new artificial intelligence-powered chatbot gave a wrong answer in a promotional video, as investors wiped more than $100bn off the value of Google’s parent company, Alphabet. This seems to be the world’s costliest demo failure and clearly demonstrations how the world is closely monitoring this A.I race and react to it enormously.
There is obviously a worry that Alphabet will lose its edge in search, just because it is so dominant there. But it is too early to conclude and Google is competent to come back strong in this race.

The overhaul deploys OpenAI's ChatGPT technology, which has taken the world by storm since its launch.
The move is by far the biggest threat Google has seen to its dominance in web search - and marks the beginning of an AI arms race between the companies.
Bing will now respond to search queries with more detailed answers - not just links to websites. Users are also able to chat with the bot to better tailor their queries. More contextual answers will be added on the right-hand side of a search page. The new Bing search engine will be live right away - with a limited number of searches for each person.
The announcement comes a day after Google revealed details of its own new chatbot, Bard.
Both companies are scrambling to get their products to market.
"The race starts today," Microsoft boss Satya Nadella said.
