The Ripple Effect: Coaching, Coach, Human Being towards Better World [S.1-E.52/2]

When I partner with coaches, our sessions transcend ordinary personal or business goals. It's about delving deep into the very core of who they are — their core values, life purpose, and leader within. We discard surface exploration because, in the cocoon of coaching, we have the freedom to proclaim, "cut the BS!" whenever saboteurs rear their heads and stories get longer.

Every moment spent with a coach in a coaching session is invaluable. All the coaches I know carry a revolutionary purpose, one poised to impact the lives of millions. Moreover, they bear the responsibility of families, lead businesses, champion social responsibility projects, and possess a sharpened self-awareness that steers their emotions, processes, and visions. Our coaching sessions are the cradle of catalyzing positive transformations on a global scale. How precious it is!

Whether you are one of the coaches I have partnered with in the past, leaving you with a smile as you read this article, or if we are connecting for the first time on LinkedIn, let me reignite the flame within us all:

As a coach, each day unveils a tapestry of potential, as individuals come to realize their power and overcome obstacles. Years ago, when my mentor asked me how it feels to coach, I replied to him, "I feel like I am sitting with an incredible creature on a different planet and exploring some topics of the earth." As you choose this profession, I have no doubt you carry a similar passion. But one thing often overlooked by coaches is that after every session, your clients return to their essence, radiating the best version of themselves. They, in turn, infuse their organizations and communities with this newfound vitality. So, if you ever thought the transformation is happening in one's life, think twice!

It is a profession that we spend so much time growing as a coach and expanding our range, and often we forget how this journey is impacting us as human beings outside of the profession. In one of our sessions with one of my coaches, I brought up the topic of success in coaching, and I was asked to question how many hats I was wearing in my coaching journey. I found out I was playing the roles of a coach, a business owner, and a purposeful leader. Then I was asked to come up with a metaphor. It was like a high-tech caravan owned by a globetrotter, equipped with great furnishings, awesome meals, and facilities, but the driver was just staring at the beauty of what is going on inside instead of driving to be a globetrotter! Who was the driver? The business owner in me kept watching and celebrating my growth as a coach but neglected bookkeeping and checking ROI.

In other words, it's not solely about transforming clients and advancing your coaching profession. It is about your multiple hats being transformed together with it. In the simplest context; your skills in communication, listening, and asking powerful questions have extended beyond your coaching practice. They empower you to build stronger interpersonal connections, foster collaborations, and deftly navigate conflicts. You are of great value to your communities, shaping countless interactions and outcomes. You are leading in many different ways sometimes being well aware of it, sometimes it is just admired behind you. Who are you becoming with your multiple hats? How are they getting melted into each other?

Consider this: every breakthrough you hold the space for, every "aha" moment you observe— these are not isolated events. They ripple out into the world, impacting not only your clients but also the people they touch, the organizations they lead, and the communities they serve.

Coaches, coaching is the instrument to create a better world. Your calling extends far beyond individual growth; it's a clarion call to construct the world we all yearn for. Reconnect with your purpose, reignite your passion, and together, let's shape a more fulfilling world for all.

Can you imagine a world where every soul thrives in fulfillment? Can you envision a world free from war, crime, and discrimination? What is your role in it?

So, to all the coaches out there, whether you've been on this journey for years or are just starting, I urge you to embrace your role as you have the power of coaching. Remember the transformative potential you hold within your hands. Be bold in your pursuit of authenticity, both as a coach and as a human being. And above all, remember why you embarked on this journey and check in where you are today among the continuous demands and expectations of the world for the "ideal internationally successful coach." Remember the days you had been so sick and tired of the boxes (both for to-dos and the ones they put people in) and said enough to all.

Where are you in your journey of creating a better world? How are you using your power?

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.” - Albert Einstein

Thank you for empowering post Senem , it is a great reminder that we are loving and supportive energy on an individual transformational journey of every human we interact with and that - on its own impacting communities and not just a client we coach.

Enjoyed the article especially Einstein's quote. Personally for me Senem Anataca, LL.B, LL.M, CPQC, CPCC, PCC, we're all miracles. We just need to acknowledge it and then spread it to people around us.
