The "Rio" will change course
And for that we have to believe.
As a native of Cubat?o / SP, I could literally pack and bring in my home state, but when I was here the first time in 1982, on the tour, Rio had another course.
On this date I was enchanted and I declared to what I saw that one day I would live here. I returned in 1990 to work. I was no longer the same and the course of Rio was not, but it was still a wonderful river, colorful in every way and despite having changed its course it was still navigable and my promise would one day be fulfilled.
In 1997 it was fulfilled. I came to Rio again to work, Rio still had a definite course, flowing waters, strong currents bringing it to meet the sea, but it was no longer the same. I came for seven months, which turned into a year, two years, three years and I stayed and as I had promised here I decided to stay.
I decided to stay and believe that as the Rio course would one day change, it did not change. It lost its limpid waters, gained basins and "sedimentation", its course suffered almost irreparable setbacks, almost dried up, and its vegetation almost finished, but with difficulty it continues against the sea, tired, polluted, dirty but with rapids which are yet to be fortified.
The river has changed its course, it is barely navigable, it is very silted, it is very polluted, but there has to be a new course towards a new sea because, from here I do not want to run. I'm from S?o Paulo, born in Rio de Janeiro.
As we change and we are never the same as before, Rio will change as well and this River will never be today.
I believe
