Ringbrothers Copperback Mustang World Class Performance Resto Mod
Cars-On-Line newsletter readers may remember when the 1967 Ringbrothers Copperback Mustang was offered for sale many years ago. At that time it was one of the top custom resto mods in the country, truly a rolling piece of automotive artwork.
This week, MS Classic Cars in Seekonk, Massachusetts is offering this famous custom show car for sale in the Cars-On-Line Street Machine Section online. It will be a topic of conversation all over the custom car world until it finds a new home.
The Copperback Mustang show car was sent back to Ringbrothers, roughly four years ago, and a ton of upgrades were completed. The upgrades included some exterior appointments, a complete new interior and some suspension work. So it has evolved beyond what the original show car was designed to be.
Powered by a Roush Performance 427 V8 with 560 horsepower, it transfers the pull to a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission. The build is breathtaking. It starts with a Dart Iron Eagle block outfitted with Roush #1460 aluminum heads, Roush V eight valve covers and Roush 8-stack fuel injection system with custom air cleaners. They put the power to the pavement with a Currie 9" Posi rear end.
The number of one-off custom parts which were used in the build for the Copperback is mind boggling. For a more detailed account of the build process you'll want to read our MyDreamCar.online blog post today. You'll also see a walk-around video with Mark Schiliro, owner of MS Classic Cars.
