RIGHT WAY TO CHOOSE THE PERFECT WEDDING SUIT

While your partner is busy spending time deciding the dream wedding dress, you too need to take out some of that precious time to choose the right dress for your big day. Your bride getting all the attention is great but wouldn’t you like to complement her too, by being the most handsome looking man by her side on the big day too.

Choosing the right outfit for your big day is a big task. From the right style, fit, colour to the right accessories you need to hit the right note for all.?The first and foremost thing is not to keep it for the last minute.?Shop and do your research well ahead and be prepared, so that you have time for those tryouts, multiple fittings, accessory shopping, and last-minute alterations.

So let us get right away to all the factors you need to consider finding the perfect attire.

Fabric: -?Weather is an important factor when it comes to choosing your wedding suit. Flannel or Tweed can go very well during the winter season but for a summer wedding cotton or linen suit will be the best option. So, choosing the right material according to the location and season is very essential.

Colour:?Well not all colours are meant for everyone. Have a look at your complexion and then decide what colours or shades suit you the best. Also, some fabrics and colours do not work well for each other. So, you need to be very picky about this part, pick up the colour that not only suits you but makes you look vibrant and not boring. For example, for a dusky complexion try to go in for a brighter tinge contrary to the popular belief of going in for subtle tones. Bright colour will add vibrancy to your complexion. The last thing you would want is your clothes to wash you out and make you look pale or dull. Those with wheatish to fair-skinned can go in for pastels colours, as for fair complexioned person avoid bright sharp colours as it would look flashy.

A theme wedding may need you to pick the colour that complements the colour of the day, and if in doubt the classic black suit can never go wrong. But a dark navy-blue suit or charcoal grey suit also is an all-weather choice. But whatever be your colour choice the factor that you need to keep in mind are Season and the time of day of the event.

A hint to understand the colour palettes is as below.

Navy or Blue:?This is the popular choice and blends with all skin tones. This colour palette is a versatile one from dark to light or pastel shades this colour shade has all to offer. Where a navy suit blends in, a royal blue suit will make you stand out in the crowd. Blue colour is an all-year-round colour.

Black/Grey suit:?There is no arguing about the fact that black suits are just stunning but they have become so common that they look more corporate and professional than festive. Here is where grey suits save your day. Grey colour is a tone down than black but is equally very sophisticated and very dressy and much more versatile. Dark/charcoal grey?too?is a stunning colour and looks fantastic on most people.

Burgundy and Maroon Suits:?If you are daring and want to stand out, burgundy or maroon can be your colour. These warm tones are incredibly cheery and have a very festive feeling about them.

Green/Olive Suits:?Chose these when you aren’t shy and want all the limelight on you because these are eye-catchers.

Pink and Mauve:?Well, these are some experimental colours. While pink may not be everyone’s cup of tea but it can look really good. Don’t believe in those rumors that pink is only for the ladies. Men can adorn this colour equally well. Mauve is an undertone that is more acceptable than pink and looks surreal.

Fit:??Key to having the killer look is a well-fitted suit. The outfit shouldn’t look like someone else’s, right? It should be made to fit and flaunt your body shape and size. Trust us, it is worth the extra time and effort!

Let us understand the type of fits. there are 3 main types

Regular:?this one is for men with an average or larger build. It is the classic style that allows room for extra movement and is not too loose or tight either.?The regular fit helps to accentuate and make those who have a heavy build look shapely and pristine. After all, you do not want that bulk or tummy to show, right. You may even request a below the chest fitting so that the fit helps bring out the good part and hide the bad.

Slim:?this one gives you a slimmer and more modern look. But if you have a lean structure, never go in for such a fit, because it may make you look very thin. Slim fit is for those who have a good body structure but still do not want to go in for that body-hugging clothing.

Body fit/ Body-hugging:??If you are into the gym and a fitness lover with an athletic body then you may go in for a fit that is tight enough to flaunt your curves.

Type:??Don’t follow your business suit style. It is your big day and therefore you need to make your style statement too. Select a suit that is modern and stylish and fits you well. The main players of suit styles are a tuxedo/ two-piece suit, a three-piece suit and a double-breasted suit.

Besides the body structure keep in mind the height too. For example, a very tall and lean person can ace any length of the suit or tux but at all costs try to avoid the bold vertical strips as it would add more to the length. For those who are short, the blazer length should not go past your hips as otherwise, it may make you look shorter than you are. Keep your pants a little high waisted so as to give an elongated look to your legs and make you look taller.

Tuxedo/ Two-piece Suit:-?A two-piece suit consists of a single-breasted jacket and pants while a tuxedo is a suit with details like satin-faced lapels, satin buttons and a satin side-stripe down the pant leg. Tuxedos are more formal and evening wear. A tuxedo needs high-quality material whereas a perfectly fitting suit made of even low-quality material can look good. Tuxedos require special occasions whereas suits are all-time, anytime wear. As for colour tuxedos are always in darker shades whereas suits can be in lighter shades too. Both are a great choice for weddings and are most popular among grooms.?

Three-piece suit: is a two-piece suit with a waistcoat. This one goes well with winter/spring weddings. You can play with your attire by keeping the blazer and pants traditional and a funky waistcoat which will make you stand out.

Double Breasted suit:?It is a coat with overlapping front flaps which has two symmetrical columns of buttons in front. The wide peak lapels give the chest a broader look while drawing the eye upward and making you look taller. It also adds a formal touch. However, be sure to avoid unusual patterns and do wear a double-breasted suit with a neck or a bow tie. Heavily built people should avoid these types of suits as these make you look heavier, on the other hand on lean built this type of suit adds volume to give a fuller look.?

Accessorize:?Well accessories are not only meant for bridal wear. Grooms too need elegant accessories to match the beautiful bride. To get that new look you need to have the right detailing. But never go overboard with accessories, it might make you look too decorated. Try and keep it subtle and crisp. Accessories do not mean only the brooch, but it includes everything from ties/neckties to cufflinks to socks to shoes etc.

Wear a slim satin silk necktie to match with your tuxedo’s lapels, or a good cufflink and brooch to make your suit stand out. The pocket square can add a dash of colour and break the monotony of an all-black suit.

Never forget the shoes, they are something that helps you nail the perfect look on your big day.

Take from this what would work best for you, you know your style best so take time out and not feel obligated to conform to something particular but try out a few styles before making the final decision. Remember you only get one chance to be a groom and so need to rock too on your wedding day, so dress accordingly.

The most important thing is that you need to feel good and well-dressed and above all be comfortable on your big day. However, our designer at My Perfect Fit, Ms. Jigyasa has only one line to add for all grooms who plan to choose between Tuxedo and Suit that style may be yours but colour coordination and fit should be left to the stylist to enhance the best in you to match your bride-in-waiting for the big day.
