During the past few weeks, I have noticed some common feelings of my clients during the coaching sessions.
They are overwhelmed.??
They are motivated to quit bad habits, they are willing to build new habits that are good for them.
But they struggle.
When they can`t keep up with their targets, they judge themselves for having too little motivation or too little self-discipline.
For being too lazy or too busy. And that makes them feel even more overwhelmed.
I hear you. I feel you.??
One thing I am advising then is that building a new habit has very little to do with motivation or self-discipline. You need them just enough to start. The rest is about setting up the right environment and system.
They understand it. Intellectually. But I notice that it doesn`t help them enough.
Because they are tired. For a long time have been so.
And the same time, they want to improve, to be better versions of themselves, to be better versions for their partners, children, bosses, employees.
??Here is my message to you, if you feel the same way.

Stopping a bad habit and building a new habit isn`t something that is separate from your life. It is a part of your life.
When you are exhausted by the end of the year goals, family issues, team challenges, pandemic restrictions, health problems, or whatever else it might be.. you have very little energy left for the topics that are not burning.
Same time, you need to find a way out of that vicious cycle of stress.
??Ask yourself, WHICH of the new habits would support your well-being, RIGHT NOW? Which would support you feeling better in general? More relaxed, more healthy?
And then go for that. Forget about the rest. There`s no competition of who makes more new habits in a month. Well, not as I know at least.
Start with ONE habit. Start with tiny steps. Don`t take your habit-building too seriously. Create the necessary environment and system to make it work, and look at it lighter, look at it as a game.
Couldn`t keep up today with the habit, because you were too swamped in your job? Make the mental note, learn from it, move on, do better tomorrow.
Succeeded to stick with the plan despite everything and now feeling great? Celebrate it!??
Most of the habits are not life-death question.
They are meant to improve your life. If leaving a bad habit or creating a new one makes your life more miserable, stop it. ?
And keep in mind that it`s not your fault, it`s the fault of the system that is necessary to build a habit. Or the habit is not the right one for this particular moment.
We are living in a stressful enough time. Creating new habits definitely can support you to increase your resilience and well-being. ?? Make sure, you feel that way when working on them.
