Right from its start: growth and agility in the adventure of Hubert in O’Tacos
Hello Hubert, welcome! Can you tell us about how you joined O’Tacos?
Hello, sure. My first job was in the Young Graduate Program at Restaurant Brands International in Switzerland where I worked in Finance and Procurement.
After spending 2 years in Switzerland, I got in contact with O’Tacos and discovered about their recent launch in Belgium, my home country. And that is how the adventure started. I joined O’Tacos as Business Performance Manager, the initial phase was all about implementing processes, creating teams, establishing routines, soon I was given more responsibilities and started working also on the brand development and supporting operations and marketing. Then, in 2022 I grew into a Market Lead position.
How did O’Tacos evolve since its birth in the region?
I was the 3rd employee in the region, so I could see the brand changing a lot, especially as it joined QSRP. Before that, we were going right-and-left, helping around how we could. Then, with the knowledge of QSRP and of Burger Brands Belgium – with whom we share our office – we established our processes, structures, and kept growing while remaining agile, which is a key value of O’Tacos. In this growth, we remain very fast and quick.
What are the most challenging aspects of your job
The biggest is to remain on top of the French Tacos market, which is a market that we created and that other brands are starting to compete in. Another challenge is that O’Tacos is a new French concept, so as we grow internationally, we must create a strong brand awareness.
Personally, a challenge for me is to keep this agility we have at O’Tacos while growing and setting-up a structure.

Can you tell us about your team?
We interact a lot with one another, even if spread across countries.
Colleagues are extremely young, willing to grow with the brand. Our Young Graduate Program is crucial for our growth. In our day-to-day, being at this office is a lot of fun, it is dynamic, fast and energetic. We have a strong bond and like to go to events together, holding the O’Tacos stand during events and preparing our products together! We share knowledge and learnings with each other, while keeping a fun, dynamic and hard-working setting.
I try to lead by example, pushing my colleagues to further develop their skills to the standards we set. I like to work with ambitious colleagues who would want to take my position and I enjoy growing with them.
Sharing the office in Antwerp with colleagues from other brands we appreciate exchanging experiences, we work together on new challenges and share best practices.
What convinces you to stay in this company?
There are three main reasons that keep me here. First, I am having fun, and as long as I am having fun and I like my job, I keep pursuing it. Second, both in QSRP and in O’Tacos I see a lot of potential to grow, I believe that QSRP can bring growth for me in the future, so I am highly motivated. Finally, here I keep growing and learning a lot about the industry, new technologies, different markets, all while being surrounded by great people and great brands.
I think the Group has been changing a lot lately. When I joined O’Tacos, QSRP didn’t formally exist yet, but with time we see the impact. We are centralising processes and digital tools, sharing more and more knowledge between brands, meeting new people and sharing expertise. It is very enriching for the team and myself to be part of this Group.
