Right direction (but directionless)
Google Maps gave me a torrid time recently. I spent more than half an hour going around in circles until I found my location.
It isn’t hard to figure out if you’re headed in the wrong direction. Google Maps might not help you but it will tell you if you’re heading closer or farther from your destination.
But careers are a little different. One reason is what we seek changes over time.
Do you want more fame?
More money?
A fancy designation?
Want to nurture or mentor others?
Want to lead?
Want to work for an inspiring leader?
The thing is, these shifts aren’t always obvious and we sometimes ignore them. Or even if we recognize them, we don’t know what to do next.
Changing direction takes time, patience and effort. But once you realize it’s an option, you can start working with it and head in a direction that will offer you more happiness and fulfilment.
