Embarking on a Journey of Growth, Learning, and Fun

Stepping into the Mumbai Educational Trust (MET) PGDM program felt like boarding a rollercoaster—exciting, nerve-wracking, and filled with twists and turns. ?? Looking back on my first trimester, it’s incredible how much has been packed into just three months. From day one, I experienced a mix of challenges, growth, and memorable moments that have shaped me both personally and professionally.

From Undergraduate to Graduate: The Shift in Expectations

Transitioning from a bachelor’s degree to a master’s program was a completely new experience. The expectations were higher, and the environment was more demanding yet deeply enriching. Unlike my structured undergraduate studies, the master’s program at MET challenged me to think critically, manage my time more effectively, and adapt to a fast-paced learning environment. It wasn’t just the academics that changed—it was the entire mindset. Surrounded by peers from diverse backgrounds, I found myself learning just as much from them as from the curriculum. This experience pushed me to expand my understanding and embrace growth.

Learning Beyond the Books: In Action

A standout course this trimester was Organizational Behavior, taught by Prof. Anand Singh Rajawat. ?? This subject revealed the human element within organizations—how individuals interact, behave, and influence one another in professional settings. It was more than just theories; it was about applying these lessons to real-life scenarios, from leadership to managing team dynamics. Working on group projects for this course was particularly enriching. Each member brought unique skills and perspectives. Overcoming challenges like scheduling conflicts and differing work styles sharpened my teamwork and communication skills. I gained real-world insights into the importance of collaboration and resilience.

Hands-On Learning: Outbound Training and Group Projects

One of the most eye-opening experiences at MET was the outbound training program. ?? It took learning beyond the classroom, helping me build critical skills like adaptability, teamwork, and resilience. I vividly remember the thrill of tackling problem-solving exercises, discovering new strengths, and learning to handle pressure more effectively. Group projects, presentations, and class discussions have also been pivotal in my development. While working with individuals who had different opinions and approaches wasn’t always easy, navigating these challenges taught me invaluable lessons in empathy, open communication, and patience—skills that are essential in both academic and professional settings.

Personal Growth: From Introvert to Networker

These past months have been transformative in ways I never imagined. I am shifting from being introverted to actively engaging with peers and building my professional network. ?? From working in different groups for projects and assignments to serving as a Deputy Head on the Placement Committee, these experiences have been stepping stones toward my long-term goals.

Most importantly, I’ve realized that personal growth isn’t something that happens in isolation—it’s shaped by the people around you. The mentors, peers, and faculty at MET have played a crucial role in my journey, contributing not only to my academic development but also to the life skills and values that will stay with me forever.

Mentors and Guest Speakers: Guiding Lights Along the Way

The mentors and guest speakers I’ve encountered in these three months have been invaluable. Dr. Yogesh Naik’s research expertise, Dr. Harshada Mulay’s insights on business communication, Seema Korgaonkar’s knowledge of finance, Kiran Sir's teachings on CSR and current affairs, and Yogesh Sir's economic perspectives have all significantly contributed to my academic and professional growth. Guest sessions on goal-setting, communication, and mindfulness were equally impactful. Standouts include Kush Sir’s game-changing talk on LinkedIn, Dominic CostaBir’s leadership mantra—"Live like a tiger, lead like a lion, and collaborate like a wolf"—and Vaishnavi Prasad’s self-discovery workshop, which helped me embrace the importance of authenticity in personal branding. ??

Embracing the Journey Ahead with Gratitude and Excitement

As I reflect on these first three months, I’ve come to realize that every challenge is an opportunity to grow, every collaboration offers a chance to learn something new, and each day brings fresh experiences. Whether it’s balancing academics with personal life, navigating group dynamics, or stepping up as a leader, this journey at MET has been everything I hoped for—and more. Looking ahead, I’m excited for what’s to come. Armed with the lessons I’ve learned, the friendships I’ve built, and the skills I’ve developed, I’m ready to take on new challenges with renewed enthusiasm. The best part of the journey? It’s only just begun! ??
