How long have you been at Ridecell? It will be 3 years in July.

What advice would you have for future employees? Ridecell is a very flexible and open organization that values different cultures and ideas. At the core of their work is a push for research and continuous improvement. My advice would be to first understand those core values as they will help motivate you when in time of need. In addition, keep yourself updated with what’s going on in the market and never cease to take risks or proposing solutions that you might think would fit better to an existing solution. Finally, always be proactive and exercise empathy.

How have you grown, either professionally and/or personally, since starting here? Well, I began here as an Android Engineer and my only core competency at that time was Android. I myself was not aware of various skills I possessed and my team helped me realize that. They encouraged me to keep working and provided me guidance on how and what should be my next steps. Tools like “Start, Stop, Continue”, access to various different courses of my interest and emotional support helped me grow to where I am now managing a small part of my team as a Technical Program Manager.

How would you describe the company culture? It is completely energetic and helpful, where people love being around each other and meeting in person. Colleagues work enthusiastically as if it’s some mission they are working on. Any challenge is accepted graciously and when in need of help you just have to ask; everyone is present there to make sure you succeed. Ridecell takes good care of employees not just professionally but goes to the extent of providing personal help which helps you feel more connected to the organization. There are various different programs and tools like SSC, growth grants, and health insurance that help employees grow and feel safe.

What makes Ridecell different from other companies? What I like the most about this organization is its ability to take feedback, their openness to change for the betterment of the company and providing equal opportunities for all towards their growth and development. The cultural diversity along with providing equal opportunity diversifies this organization, bringing the best of everyone into one place.

What’s your favorite part of working here? The part that I enjoy the most is when I collaborate with different team members, not just in my team but across various teams and departments. I get to know, connect with them, try to provide answers to their problems or point them in the right direction. The most fun part is that I don’t have to think twice before connecting with anyone. This is the culture and empathy that we Ridezillas share with each other.

What gets you most excited about the company’s future? The company is in the Mobility sector which itself is always evolving. There will always be improvement in the way we commute. The industry over the past few decades has come up with more ideas of commuring which we earlier might not have imagined.?These days we have self-driving vehicles, EV based vehicles and continuous research going on in making transportation more cheap and reliable. Recently, I heard that there is an EV Car that is production ready and can last up to a month on a single charge. This sector is always evolving and with any new technology introduction, it gives us a chance to work with the tech and provide a better and easily accessible solution to end users or businesses. This aspect excites me the most to work in the organization.

How would you describe your team’s dynamic? Honestly, I feel lucky to have the team I have right now. Although there have been changes prior to and following the pandemic, I think that every single person that I have worked with has contributed immensely to the growth of the team as well as myself. When you work with people of different cultures, backgrounds and thought processes, you start thinking in a more broader way, considering various factors which would have not been possible without diversification. In a similar fashion, my team has lots of different personalities and each one brings their best; they are always ready to help, hops on when needed, and goes the extra mile to not only find the issue but also propose a possible solution which helps make everyone’s life easier.
