Ride for Children
The pandemic has made the last 17 months a tough time for everyone. In particular, it has been a difficult period for children. Needless to say, children with a range of health, education and social issues can find it more challenging than anyone else. Hence, I’d like to do something to help. In the next two months, I’m going to do two charity rides to raise some donation:
15th Aug – 50 miles (80km) in Milton Keynes for Ride High. Ride High is a registered charity based in Milton Keynes that transforms the lives of disadvantaged children by giving them the opportunity to learn to ride and look after horses and ponies. They currently serve about 88 children every week and they are looking to increase the service level to 120 children. You can find more about them here: https://www.ridehigh.org/index
Over 70 cyclists have signed up for the ride on the day and my target is to raise at least ￡350 and donations can be made here: https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/ChenChen1
7th-10th Oct – 250 miles (400km) in North Wales (oh yeah, it will be hilly) for Wrexham Sounds. Wrexham Sounds is a is a not-for-profit, award-winning, social enterprise dedicated to transforming young lives through music. Children with a range of health, educational and social issues are referred to them by social services, specialist schools, charities and parents. They also provide music lessons at all grades to children who cannot access them at school. They will use the donation raised to equip their new premises and upgrade their stock of instruments.
