Richmond VS Fremantle Preview

On Wednesday night, the in-form Richmond team will face off against a topsy-turvy Fremantle side. Coming into the match, Richmond are on a 3-game winning streak, but Fremantle have gone 5-5 in their last 10. Richmond are the heavy favorites, but who knows with Fremantle? Richmond have lost both key defender Dylan Grimes and outside midfielder Kane Lambert to injury but have Nathan Broad and an exciting young talent in Jack Higgins to replace. Fremantle have key forward Jesse Hogan to return, with Blake Acres and Minairo Frederick alongside. On the rough side though, the young Connor Blakely dropped after a bad 6-disposal appearance in the 38-point loss to the GWS Giants last Saturday. Richmond do have a bit of a history of losing late on to David Mundy’s beautiful kick of the Sherrin, but they have a major upper hand in this contest coming off a comfortable win over fellow Top-4 contenders the West Coast Eagles. Richmond need this win and will need to win out the rest of the year to make the Top-4 for a double chance, with Fremantle playing mainly for pride with the Dockers in 14th and almost no chance of making finals in season 2020.

Prediction: Richmond by 31 points
