Richmond Tweed Regional Library’s Lauren Tearle Wins the 2024 USU New Gen Committee and Active Super Apprentice/Trainee of the Year Award

Lauren Tearle, a dedicated Trainee Library Assistant at Richmond Tweed Regional Library (RTRL), has been honoured with the 2024 United Services Union (USU) New Gen Committee and Active Super Apprentice/Trainee of the Year Award. This prestigious recognition highlights Lauren’s exemplary commitment to her studies and the significant contributions she has already made to the library profession and community.

Having recently completed her Certificate III in Library and Information Services, Lauren has shown outstanding dedication to her field, achieving high standards in her studies while demonstrating a professional maturity beyond her years. She was nominated by her peers with resounding support, receiving six nominations—twice the required number—a testament to the profound impression she has made on her team and the workplace at large.

Lauren’s colleagues were quick to commend her, with one saying, “Lauren is an enthusiastic and willing worker who approaches every challenge with a positive outlook. She’s a joy to work with, consistently delivering exceptional customer service and showing an eagerness to learn.”

Another colleague added, “Lauren’s warm personality and outstanding people skills make her a favourite among customers and staff alike. Her dedication has quickly established her as an invaluable part of our team.”

This recognition, awarded by the USU New Gen Committee in partnership with Active Super, celebrates Lauren’s achievements and her embodiment of the values held dear by the USU, Lismore City Council and RTRL. Her contributions exemplify a bright future for young professionals in the library sector and both Council and RTRL are immensely proud to have her as a permanent Library Assistant.
