RICHEMONT ITALY WELCOMES MAFED STUDENTS TO PRF

历峰集团 #Italy's focus on future talent continues, as we welcomed 60 students from the #MAFED – #master in Fashion, Experience and Design – from Università Bocconi .

Considering the #design and #sustainability focus of MAFED, we tailored for these students a day where they could fully immerse themselves in our productions sites based in Scandicci, #florence .

We started the day with an overview of Richemont as a group, where I presented our amazing maisons, our key #values, such as sustainable growth, customer centricity and #DEI, and concluded by illustrating real examples of how we delivered on these missions in Italy.

Then Alberto Pedersini , our Logistic Manager and Sustainability Lead, talked about how the group is defining his strategy having as compass the Ten Principles from the United Nations Global Compact, he then shared our sustainability targets, and how the group is supporting a variety of good causes through our numerous foundations. Lastly Alberto provided some real examples of social and environmental initiatives that we have put in place in Italy to deliver on a sustainable present and future.

The students were particularly impressed by the fact that Richemont Italy has achieved a 100% sourcing of #renewable electricity in 2022, 3 years ahead of the group target.

The group then moved to our PRF Manifacturing site, where we hand-finish Montblanc , Chloé , dunhill , Serapian Milano and 卡地亚 leather creations.

Virginia Bettarini , HR Manager, started by focusing on PRF as Leather Hub, and explained how research, development and production management of Leather Goods is delivered here; she also provided insights on future challenges for #talentacquisition related to production engineering, materials research and development & product sustainability.

Gabriele Garfagnini , Industrial Director for Montblanc Italy, showed us the initial stages of product creation - from inception in the style studio to the creation of the first prototype. It was also particularly interesting to learn more about the role of Pattern Makers and Prototypists in the process of creating the finished product, as well as the impact of the Research & Development function in delivering innovation for each and every Montblanc Leather Goods collection.

Raffaella F. , our Innovation & Sustainability Director, provided insights related to quality testing and performance evaluation of a finished product.

Barbara Bartoli, Laboratory Manager, presented the most impactful tests/machines, and how they replicate real-life usage of the product, to support durability tests.

Sergio Macci , Customer Service Manager, talked to the students about our aftersales service, quality assurance, and spare parts management during the repair flow.

?

The many questions from these MAFED Bocconi students showed a deep interest for durability and sustainability, key characteristic of our high quality #luxury products, with an #artisanal dna.

We are sure that, if this thirst for knowledge will continue growing throughout their #careers, these bright #students will design a sustainable future for luxury goods.
