Richard Jay completes design and construction of Melbourne quarantine laundry

At Richard Jay, we are proud of the important role we continue to play in maintaining and improving hygiene standards across the country, particularly during the pandemic.

Recently, Multiplex commissioned Richard Jay to design and install a self-functioning laundry for the Centre for National Resilience quarantine facility in Melbourne.

This purpose-built facility serves as alternative accommodation for Australians returning from overseas, ensuring the safety of returning residents and the wider community.

In partnership with Electrolux Professional, Richard Jay designed, co-ordinated and installed a COVID-safe laundry with the capacity to service up to 3000 people across three cycles.

The installation included:

? 4 x 70kg Electrolux Barrier Washers

? 7 x 60kg Electrolux Tumble Dryers

? 1 x Electrolux Flatwork Ironer with automation

Six months from conception to construction is surely a record-setting effort for a project like this one!

Showcasing Electrolux Professional equipment, the Centre for National Resilience project Mickleham site is the largest on-premises laundry installation Richard Jay has completed to date.
