Rich Person, Poor Person Dinner

Rich Person, Poor Person Dinner

What an amazing event

I had the privilege of being one of the volunteers at the annual #rppp2024 Rich Person, Poor Person Dinner at Parramatta Mission last night. What an awesome experience!

The point of the event was to highlight the ever widening gap between rich and poor in our society. One hundred guests joined us for this event.

On arrival, after a short intro to the evening, the guests took part in a lucky dip to determine who would be a rich person for the night and who would be a poor person for the night.

The 15 lucky guests who became rich people for the night were treated to a 5 star meal, entrée, main meal and dessert including their choice of drinks and were waited on all evening for their RICH person experience.

The other 85 guests had to line up at the kitchen for a bowl of soup and bread roll for their basic dinner for their poor person experience.

This was a confronting and enthralling event where everybody in the room got a much better understanding of the extent of this problem in our society.

If you would like to assist Parramatta Mission in its important work please contact them and start that conversation via their website https://www.parramattamission.org.au/ or by phone 02 9891 2277
