A rich mind swims in solutions

A rich mind swims in solutions

The reason this happens is because as humans we’ve evolved to constantly seek advancement of our situation and improvement. We’re not used to things going well as a species and our brains tend to freak out and try and find something to improve when it happens, especially in younger people. We evolved very strong skills relating to problem solving and survival skills. When neither are required, it confuses us so our brain finds something to worry about.

I can relate to the looking for problems. I think the impulse may come from a couple of sources. Fear and anxiety can cause one to seek out problems which are not obvious in order to fix them before they become big enough to be hurtful. Also, there is a biochemical high that happens when we solve problems. This is why we enjoy puzzles and many games. There is a third thing (though I don’t sense that you are like that) where someone looks for problems in order to be controlling, to put other people or their ideas down.

But if your mind goes to the past, then that is indicative of old, unresolved stresses. For that, I recommend Transcendental Meditation. It’s easy to learn, easy to practice, and it removes stresses and brings satisfactions that drive the mind to be so restless. I know that exact feeling. You cant “shut it down”. When I notice I start to wonder I immediately pick a simple or benign topic and I keep asking why. As long as you are comfortable and it does not over whelm you, allow your mind to wander but stay focused enough to control what you think about.

If you thinking about how a rug is made means you are not thinking about that one time you got drunk at the office Christmas party. If you start to think about the party again go back to thinking about rugs. If you choose to think about a topic that means you are not thinking of what you don't want to. If that makes sense. I do recommend that if it becomes overwhelming, see a doctor. The mind is a hell of a heaven. Or a heaven of a hell, wrote William Blake. There is nothing good or bad. Only Thinking makes it so, wrote Shakespeare. So there you have it. Due to its pernicious habit of thinking, the data in the memory kicks in when you least expect it.

All you can do is understand Thought and learn to transcend it. How? Thought is of the past or future. Practice Being Mindful. Stay Present. Observe, without judgement. Practice. As the opposite, Thought , has plenty of practice. It’s a muscle, grown strong. You must have lots of battles you won or lost and have a tendency to look for problems in order to avoid pain and disappointments. There is nothing wrong with that as long as it stops quickly by you saying to yourself that 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 is OK so this time only unexpected events can change the outcome. Strengthens the other. Paying Attention to life, without Thought. It’s meditation.

Mind is chaos, noise and commotion. Nothing can be done directly to mind because more you try more unrest you become. You need something beyond mind, higher than mind so that mind can be controlled by the master. Meditation is the only thing available to man higher than the mind. Only meditation can silence your mind. Start meditating for 15 minutes in the morning. Go to some park in wee hours of the morning (When everybody is sleeping then you don’t expect any phone call or disturbance) Walk for 2–3 miles. Then sit comfortably and witness the sound of the birds. Gradually your mind will learn the silence.

I have worried over everything my whole life since I was a little kid. Probably more than most. The difference is in what you do when you start thinking worrisome thoughts. I always listened to my worries. I accepted them as if they were all facts, that they had to be true, if not, I thought most likely it would be what happens. This is not true! This is the first trap we can get caught in. I started catching these worries and negative thoughts by first becoming more aware of them when they first came into my mind, and then judging them for what they really are -- just a thought, an idea, something that could be a possible future circumstance, but in reality, will most likely not actually happen.

I realized that these worries were really bothering not only my mental state throughout the day (causing me to think about them and take up my time when I could be more in the present moment free to think about what I want to think about...) but also my physical state of being as well. I was feeling more nervous because of these worrisome thoughts. My nervous system was actually affected by these worries, especially the big ones, of course. This was hurting my health. Obviously, I needed to do something about this if I wanted to live longer, healthier (I started eating better and exercising), and just enjoy more moments in life than spending half my day focusing on something that is most likely not even going to come about!

That's when I started rejecting these thoughts. I chose to care more about how I felt than about what was going to (or could be going to) happen, because I starting thinking more in the present moment. When you start valuing the present moment more, you realize how much time you spend not actually in the present moment! Your mind is off thinking about something you're going to do later that day, or something you want to do in the future, or something you remember about your past.

Why is it so much easier to think negatively about something. It seems like our mind goes there on it's own, without any effort on our part. Yet when we want to think positive, or change that negative assumption (that's all a worry is, an assumption that we allowed ourselves to believe, and therefore had an emotional reaction to)... When we want to think positive it sometimes takes more effort, OK, most of the time it seems to take more effort. You can call me crazy, but this is where I started to realize that my mind was made up of two selves. Stay with me here...

The self we seem to identify most with is always trying to protect us, sending in thoughts that warn us of any danger so we can judge them and decide for ourselves if we want to accept that thought or not. Problem is, we usually accept it right away, without even thinking twice about it, and so the worry sets in because we believe that it at least could happen, and we imagine how bad it would be if it did happen! Well here's where, with a little bit of attention and mental effort, the second self comes in. This is our free will to actually judge for ourselves if it's a threat or not, if it's even likely to happen.

I'm sorry to inform you that most of these worries are usually not likely to happen. You can make a list if you don't believe me. Write down your worries as they come up, look at them after you write them and imagine reading them to someone you know. You'll probably start being able to tell which ones seem silly and which ones may be actually appropriate. I'm telling you, most seem silly.

First you ignore them.smile at them whenever u see them. Feel happy that everyone is talking about and your already a center of attraction.always remember if someone is putting you down that obviously means your above them.listen to music or try dancing don't bother about them at all jus think they are some aliens and u won't understand their language. Lastly, if all of these won't workout jus shift your house to a new area. But we must really take the mental effort to not only judge these worrisome or negative thoughts, but to choose to accept them or not.

Don't just let that habitual self guide your thoughts for you and take over your precious present moments here on this earth with bad feeling thoughts! That's not right. We aren't meant to be slaves to an uncontrolled mind! It takes some work to say, "No! I don't really believe that will happen! And I'm not going to accept it. That's just silly. I'm not going to let it bother me, and take up my thoughts when I could actually choose to think something else. I'm going to choose because it is just as likely to happen. Anything can happen, and I'd rather assume something that affects my daily life and my health in a positive way, not in a negative way! That's right. I'm not gonna worry about that anymore because it's my choice, and even though it takes some work to battle against that first thought that came in my head, it's worth it."

It is worth it, because it gets easier and easier as you go along. And like me, soon you'll be saying, "You know what, I just realized I'm not affected as much as I used to be about a lot of stuff. I don't worry as much as I used to. My mind is clearer. I'm definitely more in the moment, and I have more control over what I choose to think about, and correspondingly feel, now that I've been practicing this for a while. Man I'm so glad I started working on this."

So there you have it, some actionable advice that actually works. This stuff is priceless, and I can't take credit for it myself. I learned this first hand from a guy by the name of Lane Swan. Remember that name because he has more actionable advice than anyone I've ever searched on the internet for or read from books, and I know that so many people are going to be benefited by the knowledge that he has. Follow me and check out my bio in the next little while and I'll put up a link for you to check out. Cheers!
