Rhema Word
Good Morning Everyone,
2 Corinthians 4:16-17 (AMP) says; "Therefore we do not become discouraged [spiritless, disappointed, or afraid]. Though our outer self is [progressively] wasting away, yet our inner self is being [progressively] renewed day by day. 17 For our momentary, light distress [this passing trouble] is producing for us an eternal weight of glory [a fullness] beyond all measure [surpassing all comparisons, a transcendent splendor and an endless blessedness]!"
What's going on in your life? Are you having difficulties, you can't stand or is attempting to destroy you or a loved one? Is there something that tends to trouble you, bring you down, cause distress? Let me remind you of something found in John 10:10 (AMP) that says; "The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]."
No matter what may be going on, it can't be any worse than the Apostle Paul. He was imprisoned, beaten, stoned and left for dead, shipwrecked on the way to Rome to meet with Caesar, and eventually crucified for his faith. As all this was happening, he wrote verse 17, above. The New King James calls it "our light affliction", coming from the Greek words "elaphros" meaning light in weight, quick, agile, even easy "thlipsis" meaning anguish, burdened, persecution, tribulation, trouble.
Light affliction!!!!! What's happening to you, precious friend? Can it be any worse than the things that happened to Paul? Most likely, not. I'm not minimizing anything in all our lives. When they happen to each of us, they are not pretty and, most of the time, they become quite painful, but guess what? Paul called us "more than conquerors" in Romans 8:37.
As I began to beseech the Lord on the subject for this morning's encouragement, I came across Lana Vawsers newest revelation from the Lord. Here is a portion;
"There is a fresh baptism of fire upon the people of God, a baptism of the fire of His love that is going to deal with the strongholds of fear, anxiety, terror, torment and chaos. The strongholds are being SUDDENLY shattered. He is uprooting unbelief caused from past hurts/wounds and lies/strongholds of the enemy and burning them up. Where these strongholds have been, His fire is falling upon those areas and healing, soothing, washing and cleansing. He is uprooting and rebuilding with His REVELATORY TRUTH!! Hebrews 4:12 is SO CRUCIAL right now!"
Hebrews 4:12 (AMP) says; "For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart."
It's time, if you aren't already doing it, to immerse yourself in the Word of God. Read it, pray it, declare it, stand upon it, whatever it takes to get it down in your knower. It is so very vital to your peace and well being. As you know, that's been a theme of this encouragement for, the better part of 4.5 years. In Hosea 4:6, the Lord tells us; "My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge."
My encouragement to you, today, is to, again, get into the Word of God. It is definitely okay to read other books, enjoy them, and get knowledge, but not to the extent we ignore THE WORD OF GOD. The people of America, get their knowledge of Spiritual things from pastors, Bible teachers, other people of God, and the like. That's all well and good, but the most important step in each of our lives, is to receive the "rhema Word" from God, Himself. Rhema means a word that comes directly from the throne room of God, Himself, that can and will change your life or the situations in your life.
That's what has sustained me for 50+ years. I've enjoyed and learned from others, but that Word that came at 2:00 AM, on the floor, kneeling before the Lord, in my home, is the one that has totally change my life. Let me assure you, it will do the same for you.
Love in Jesus,
David
