RFS Team Unites: Building Trust and Embracing Diversity
In early September, RFS brought together our team members based as far wide from Norway to Gloucester for our annual in-person gathering. While remote work has its advantages, these face-to-face meetings prove invaluable in strengthening our team bonds and company culture.
Cultivating Trust in a Remote World
The day kicked off with an insightful session led by Geordan Murphy on "Culture and Building Trust in a Team." Geordan introduced us to the concept of the 'Trust Equation,' providing a framework for understanding and enhancing trust within our distributed workforce.
Embracing Diversity Through Voice
In the afternoon, we had the pleasure of hosting Lucy Key from @PERFORMING PERFECTLY LTD. Lucy's presentation focused on:
1. The power of voice in professional communication
2. Recognising and addressing accent bias in the workplace
3. Strategies for creating an inclusive environment that values diverse voices
This session opened our eyes to the subtle ways accent discrimination can impact workplace dynamics and provided tools to foster a more inclusive communication culture.
Moving Forward
As we return to our remote work settings, we're energized by the connections we've made and the insights we've gained. We're committed to:
#TeamBuilding #RemoteWork #InclusiveWorkplace #ProfessionalDevelopment
Absolute pleasure
