For nearly three decades, I threw my heart into the corporate world. I climbed the corporate ladder at three different companies, showcasing my leadership, teamwork, and mentorship skills to hundreds. But last October, life threw me a curveball that changed everything. I received an invitation for a casual coffee meeting to "discuss our 2024 business plan." When I saw the invite from the company president and who else was on it, a chilling realization hit me—my corporate journey was about to end.

I’d been on the other side of these meetings before. I knew exactly what was coming. With a heavy heart, I packed up my office belongings and spent a restless weekend bracing for the inevitable. As we exchanged forced pleasantries over coffee that Monday morning, the dreaded words finally came: "We have to let you go." The reasons faded into a blur as shock took over. Nearly 29 years of dedication were dismissed in a moment, leaving me with a severance package and a deep sense of betrayal.

Just months prior, I had been navigating the turbulent waters of a divorce, adding personal turmoil to my professional upheaval. The following weeks were a blur of emotions—anger, sadness, disbelief, and fear. Yet during this storm, a fierce spark of determination and excitement ignited within me. If the corporate world could discard my years of loyalty so suddenly, it was time I took the reins of my destiny into my own hands.

Three years before this corporate shake-up, I had already begun laying the groundwork for my own venture, driven by the hard-earned lessons and skills from my corporate life. Stepping into the entrepreneurial world is a gritty, relentless journey, but every challenge brought a new opportunity.
