Rewriting the Narrative

Rewriting the Narrative

In life, there are so many things that are out of our control that many of us enjoy knowing what we can?indeed?predict or otherwise control.?

No darling, this is not my OCD talking. I do not need to know absolutely everything. I just enjoy possessing all of the information in order to be able to schedule and plan things ahead –– ok, maybe it is my OCD after all, but I’d rather call it the producer in me.

One of the things that we can control is our brand and the story we are telling.?

It doesn’t matter if the brand is our business or simply ourselves, we always tell a story. Sometimes we’re just telling the wrong one or we’re telling the story with wrong punctuation and we enunciate it with the wrong intonation. At the end of the day, it’s not about what we are communicating. It’s about the combination of everything.

Sometimes we need to look at how we are perceived from the outside, and other times we need to make some changes (ugh, who?really?likes change, though?).?Maybe it is the way we enunciate or the way we dress, but sometimes we need to change the storyline –– i.e., we need to rewrite the narrative.

As marketing goes, it seems to be a popular belief that if you have a company or a business, you need to have a name and a logo and then?voila!?You’re done, you are in business! You’re right. You’ll be one more business in the world.

You’d best believe that a brand requires so much more than that. It needs a heart and a soul –– it has to come to life. You need to understand what your brand believes in and what it stands for.?

Of course, what you’re selling or providing with your services is important, but believe me when I tell you that knowing what your?core beliefs?are will make your business (whatever you do as a business). Do it with?intention?and this will make?all?the difference.

So, how are you making a statement?

See ya,
