Rewiring Your Mind: Setting Holistic Goals for a Purposeful Year

Goals, Vision, And Just Being On The Right Track

Despite the feel-good factor of the “new year new me” energy…

…it’s possible you’re feeling numb.

??Here’s why.

.

As you cast your vision to the next 359 days of possibilities.

It’s filled with the potential of amazing opportunities, fun, joy, excitement and more.

.

However, it very likely has an undertone of last year's challenges, failures and problems.

The feelings of sadness, shame, guilt, frustration and anger.

(Take your pick – they suck!)

.

It’s how we’re wired.

Research shows that 80% of our thoughts are negative, despite the fact that 95% of our thoughts come from yesterday.

(We literally recycle shit in our heads! – This blows my mind ??)

.

.

Well, if you’ve not planned your goals etc or you’d like to upgrade your existing ones.

.

Here’s a way to set goals from a new perspective.

.

What I do is write out my goals so that even though I’m looking for success in different areas, I take a holistic approach to all the things I want to experience in my entire life.

.

Remember you get to create your life and everything that supports what you see in your vision.

.

So the key is to reprogram your mind and body.

(???????????????? ??????’???? ???? ?????????????? ?????? ????% ???????????????? ????????????????).

.

So, I write my goals as if they’re already done/achieved.

I write my goals as an expression of my gratitude.

And I write my goals so I understand who I will be and how I will feel.

.

The reason is that if you write them linearly, you only address one side of the coin so to speak.

.

You see, I used to write them as a list of things.

Nothing wrong with that, but I wasn't drawn to them emotionally.

I even created vision boards, but these goals of ours need us to be immersed.

.

Otherwise, they can feel like a list of things that don't capture our essence.

.

When I would write them out in this way, I remember not feeling clear on who I would become in order to make them happen.

(Being clear on the growth I will experience).

.

So I shifted to an upgraded way of writing my goals daily and weekly.

.

The process is simple…

[Start with gratitude for the goal already being achieved – then add what you'll need to become and how you will feel]

?- I am grateful for my loving and caring wife, and for the great relationship and romance we share. I'm decisive, communicate my desires clearly and thoughtfully making sure to understand her love language. This creates a feeling of joy and happiness.

.

?- I am grateful for my £20 million / year revenue business, serving our community of clients. I’m a leader with high standards ensuring our clients receive the best in service with care, and business growth results. I'm filled with passion, fulfilment, joy and peace.

.

And one more…

?- I am grateful for the way I distribute the money, in fun experiences, investing, charity and sharing my knowledge.

.

Then I sign off with…

…I trust myself, I love myself and I am worthy of these things.

When I write, and then look at my goals which usually fill half a page in my A5 journal, I get a sense of peace, love, enlightenment and joy.

.

I feel it's more than a list, it's a way I choose BE.

A way I choose to DO things, and ultimately HAVE.

And, because of this, I'm already experiencing parts of my goals in the now, people, relationships, things etc…

…rather than “faking it till I make it”.

.

As I take the time to wrap up this post, it's a reminder that each day we create an entry into our diary, we choose what's recorded, how we responded to it and what we want to do next.

I love my life, the successes and the tough times.
