Rewind it !! Top 5 stories of the AI World in the year 2022.

1. Coursera Co-Founder & chairman Andrew Ng predicts the next 10 Years of AI.

Andrew Ng , founder of LandingAI and DeepLearning.AI AI, co-chairman and co-founder of Coursera and adjunct professor at Stanford University, predicted a shift toward data-centric AI.

In an interview with VentureBeat, Ng said that much of the focus on AI throughout the last decade has been on big data. Ten years from now, he predicts a shift toward data-centric AI.

“Ten years ago, I underestimated the amount of work that would be needed to flesh out deep learning, and I think a lot of people today are underestimating the amount of work … that will be needed to flesh out data-centric AI to its full potential,” Ng said. “But as we collectively make progress on this over the next few years, I think it will enable many more AI applications, and I’m very excited about that.”

2. The first AI to discover faster matrix multiplication algorithms.

Deepmind

The Google DeepMind team has created AlphaTensor , an AI system designed for discovering new and more efficient algorithms for solving crucial mathematical operations.

AlphaTensor is a new approach to AI that takes AlphaZero’s superhuman performance on board games like chess and Go even further.

Matrix multiplication is used for processing smartphone images, understanding speech commands, generating computer graphics for computer games, and data compression. Today, companies use expensive GPU hardware to boost matrix multiplication efficiency, so any extra speed would be game-changing in terms of lowering costs and saving energy.

AlphaTensor makes use of a new approach called “deep learning” to solve these problems faster than humans would be able to do by hand alone. This technology can be applied in many ways — from helping people learn languages (like English or Chinese) better to making cars safely drive through city streets.

3. Google launched simple ML For spreadsheets

Google has unveiled simple ml

谷歌 has unveiled Simple ML, a new tool that will let users create artificial intelligence models in Google Sheets. Although the tool is currently in beta and requires an invitation, you can configure it through a panel on Google Sheets without any code. TensorFlow, Google’s open-source AI tech team, developed this model.

Users will create a 谷歌 Sheets spreadsheet with data points arranged in rows and columns to train AI models with Simple ML. They will then use the tool to automatically train one or more AI models to perform the given task. Two use cases support simple ML at launch: filling in blank spreadsheet fields, and locating fields with inaccurate data.

4. 英特尔 has unveiled a new deep fake detector that claims to have an accuracy rate of 96%.

Intel

英特尔 has unveiled a deepfake detection product called FakeCatcher, which the company claims are the first to achieve real-time identification of deep fakes. Intel claims that the product has a 96% accuracy rate and works by analyzing the subtle “blood flow” in video pixels to return results in milliseconds. With deepfake threats looming, this type of deepfake detection technology is becoming ever more important.

FakeCatcher is focused on clues within actual videos. It uses photoplethysmography, or PPG, a method for measuring the amount of light that is absorbed or reflected by blood vessels in living tissue to detect signals from 32 locations on a face. With FakeCatcher, PPG signals are collected from 32 locations on the face and then PPG maps are created from temporal and spectral components.

Open -AI

Generative AI was the buzzword in the year 2022 as OpenAI AI has come up with its beta models such as DALL-E2 and ChatGPT.

OpenAI has launched a beta version of DALL·E 2, an AI system that can generate images from a natural language description.Stability AI launched a text-to-image system just over five months ago, and it’s now available to more than 100 million users on Canva.

OpenAI’s DALL-E 2 generative search engine uses 微软 Azure servers to generate unique artwork from a text prompt, similar to Google Image Search. No graphic designer is required.

OpenAI stunned the internet when it released ChatGPT later in the year 2022.

ChatGPT, a new chatbot that uses OpenAI’s GPT3.5 language model, has gained 1 million users in five days.

Some AI observers are eagerly anticipating the release of GPT4, which is expected in 2023. The next version of GPT will have 100 trillion parameters, about 500 times larger than GPT3.
