Rewarding the most innovative brands in TCG

Top executives from EMEA’s leading tech retailers to announce TCG Award winners at upcoming TCG Summit

The TCG Awards recognise the most innovative TCG brands – manufacturers and/or brands – operating in EMEA. Not only do the awards inspire brands to demonstrate that they are the “best of the best”, but they also inspire the industry as a whole by creating powerful storytelling value. Winners are selected by the “Grand Jury”, comprised of top management from leading EMEA tech retailers and a top representative of GfK.

This year, the TCG Awards are looking for the Brand of the Year, the Best Integrated Marketing Campaign, the most exciting Technology Innovation, the most powerful Disruptor and the most outstanding Individual from the industry. These five awards offer the chance to be recognised for successes and achievements in the global TCG industry.

TCG Awards categories

The TCG Awards stand out from the numerous awards which are given from magazines or individual retailers to brands in the TCG industry during for a particular reason: The TCG Awards are the first pan-European awards where the top managers from EMEA’s leading electrical retailers judge the performance of the individual brands.

As Alexander Conzelmann, Director Samsung Electronics Europe and winner of last year’s Technology Innovation Award, stated at the subsequent ceremony: “We really appreciate this award, because this trophy has been given to us from our most important retail partners. For us, this is an encouragement to continue this journey together with them. I would like to add this: We should stay hungry but also humble.”

Grand Jury members congratulate some of last year’s TCG Award winners (from top to bottom): Klaus-Peter Voigt (CPO, Mediamarkt Saturn) and Alexander Conzelmann (Account Director, Samsung Electronics Europe), Enrique Martinez (CEO, Fnac Darty) and Nadin Mulder (Marketing Director EMEA, Harman Lifestyle), Hans Carpels (President, Euronics International) and Dan Arler (former CEO EMEA, Electrolux) receiving the award on behalf of Jonas Samuelson (CEO, Electrolux), Chris Buecker (Chairman, TCG Summit) and Frank Offermanns (West European Device Retail Director, Huawei).

The Grand Jury features the top managers from Media Saturn, Euronics, DixonsCarphone, Fnac Darty, M.video, ElectronicPartner and GfK who provides valuable and latest insights for the Jury members.

Last year’s TCG Award winners were: Huawei (Brand of the Year), Harman (Integrated Marketing), Samsung (Technology Innovation), Dyson (Disruptor) and Jonas Samuelson, CEO, Electrolux (Leadership).

I’ve been a great supporter of the TCG Summit ever since its inception. I think it’s a fantastic opportunity for industry leaders to get together, share best practices and learn about new ways to address the challenges and opportunities facing the industry. TCG Award winner 2018 for outstanding “Leadership”: Jonas Samuelson (CEO, Electrolux) 

The TCG Awards are fully independent and not influenced by any stakeholder or sponsor. 2019 will see again five categories. The most valuable award will be Brand of the Year. The awards are not fixed on these categories year on year. Some categories might also be slightly adjusted or added over the years but the intention is not to increase the number of awards significantly to ensure exclusiveness.

The 6th TCG Summit is the leading international retail conference for senior management in electrical retail and will take from April 2-4 in Geneva. The Award ceremony will be on April 3.
