Reward and Recognition at Nottingham University Hospitals
At Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust (NUH), we believe in recognising, rewarding and celebrating the work of our staff.
In 2024, we developed a new strategy to improve the reward and recognition offer at NUH, by providing more opportunities for staff to be recognised and rewarded. This helps us deliver our ambition to retain and attract the workforce we need, and improve staff experience.
Over the last year we have launched two new award programmes, our People First Recognition Awards and our Values in Practice Awards, that provide the opportunities for any member of staff, in front of or behind the scenes, to be nominated for a relevant category award, or for demonstrating one or more of our new Trust values.
We had 72 award winners in 2024, of both internal and external awards, all recognised for their outstanding achievements.
This included our Frailty Admission and Discharge Unit team winning the Nursing and Midwifery Award at the NHS Parliamentary Awards for creating a new pathway to help manage frail elderly patients, our Catering Production and Food Service team winning the Hospital Catering Award at the Public Sector Catering Awards for its infant feeding menu, and one of our Consultants in Respiratory Medicine receiving an Honorary KBE from His Majesty The King for his services to the Covid-19 Vaccination Programme.?
