If you love weed and business - follow my monthly Blog for the rawest perspective into the game. I've spent most of my life around weed and never took a break. It has pushed me into becoming an Entrepreneurship in the legal industry, and the best way to describe the work is fun, challenging, and creative.
After a two-year break from writing, I teamed up with a great editing partner to be more consistent and share the brand, vision, and community stories that come along with operating these businesses.
I can assure you that this perspective is the most unique because:
- We are black-owned - less than 1% of the legal industry is owned by black males, even though we have been targeted for years through the war on drugs. Newsflash - we are still being targeted, and there is still a war.
- We are not just a dispensary because people want you to believe retail and delivery licenses for black business owners in the cannabis space will help reverse the harms of prohibition; the truth is, it will not, alone!
MAJOR BLOOM
produces a TON (maybe two tons) of finished goods to be distributed to our retail store and other retailers across the Commonwealth.
- We face challenges with home delivery regulations and need to be pretty vocal about it. Delivery regulations impact equity businesses across the state; we are also speaking for them. Regulations like two drivers and restrictions on municipality deliveries must change; otherwise, it looks like a setup for failure and intentional ignorance to the small, local, people of color operators.
- Lastly, we are an equity business; however, we still have to play in the sandbox with the big companies like Multistate operators and generational wealth holders. We do not complain; we create!
