Revolutionizing Higher Education: Cutting Costs and Embracing the Future

I've been on a mission to lower the cost of running colleges since 2010. Did you know that approximately 70% of professors and teaching staff at colleges are not on track for tenure? It's a staggering statistic that highlights the need for change. The government funds around 78% of the cost of running state colleges, while 22% comes from tuition. The total overhead for a college student each year is approximately $48,187, of which $11,000 is tuition. In contrast, the overhead in European colleges ranges from $8,000 to $15,000 per student each year.

I've led the way in driving down the cost for 200 million students to $2,000 per student each year on platforms like edX and Coursera. The future is incredibly exciting with a robust learning modality of working, travel, and apprenticeship. This model offers a unique opportunity for students to take a gap year or study abroad while gaining valuable work experience and exploring new cultures. By combining education with real-world experiences, students can develop a well-rounded skill set that prepares them for the future.

Take, for example, Sarah, a biology student who used a Mobile MOOC platform to study botany while working on a conservation project in the Amazon rainforest. She spent her days collecting plant samples lead by AI & adaptive MOOC. completing assignments. This hands-on experience not only deepened her understanding of botany but also ignited her passion for environmental conservation.

Another inspiring story is that of James, an engineering student who took a gap year to work in a cutting-edge robotics lab in Japan. Through a Mobile MOOC platform, he was able to continue his studies while gaining practical experience in the field. James collaborated with top engineers, learned about the latest advancements in robotics, and even contributed to the development of a new robotic arm. This experience not only enhanced his technical skills but also broadened his linguistic & cultural horizons.

Famous Harvard Professor Clayton Christensen predicted that up to 50% of colleges and universities could close or go bankrupt in the next decade due to their unsustainable business models and the rise of online education. It's a wake-up call for the education sector.
