As a sports management professional, I am embarking on a journey to become a leader in one of the world's most dynamic and exciting fields today. I have chosen a path that offers countless personal and professional growth opportunities. After joining GISB I was a part community full of passionate individuals who share their love of sports and desire to make a positive impact on the world. My institute Global Institute of Sports Business India shared with us a volunteer program where I could be a part of the Formula E A-team. I was one of the four candidates shortlisted from my institute along with Mahazin Chembakassery , Ashish Salunkhe , and Rene Desai .?The very next day Michelle Robson and Raghavender Yadgirkar GM of HR at Greenko Group conducted our interview in a very interesting way to know us better. Thank you, Pratik Sonawane , Ace Nxt Gen , and Formula E for trusting us to be a part of this global sports event.
Being a part of the A-Team was truly a great experience. There were two core areas of the event: the track and the grandstands and the fan village. My role as a supervisor was to make sure people get the correct information about anything they wish to know, it could be guiding them to the correct route towards the stands or helping any fans with their questions about the event timings, pit area, etc. For the first 500 fans, we had a separate band that gave them access to the pit area so that they could get to meet and greet their favorite drivers and teams. Those bands were over within a blink of an eye! ?I got to work with the FE team, where Emma Peat and Molly Simpson motivated us by being proactive in getting things done. Raghavender Yadgirkar sir uplifted everyone’s energy every time, Rakshit Khurana helped us understand our responsibilities and how important we were to get this event a successful one.
Launched in 2014, Formula E is the first global sport to be certified with a net zero carbon footprint. It delivers a powerful message about how we can help combat the effects of increasing global warming. The races aren’t just a battle for who is the fastest driver on track, teams, and drivers also need to manage battery energy consumption. This is where strategy plays a big role, drivers need to know when to push and when to conserve energy. After all, there’s no use being the fastest person on track if you don’t have enough energy left to finish the race.
This year, a total of 11 teams are competing – including the Indian squad Mahindra Racing with each team having two drivers. There’s more Indian representation on the grid, with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as Jaguar’s title partner. McLaren, Maserati, ABT Cupra, DS Penske, Nissan, Porsche, Andretti, Envision, and NIO 333 remain part of the lineup. Renewable energy major Greenko Group is the local promoter of the race alongside the Telangana government.
Aiming to bring racing to the city centers, most of the races are held on temporary street tracks around the world. Race day is also an action-packed affair with practice, qualifying and the main race all held on the same day.

The biggest talking point is the debut of the new gen 3 cars. They represent a significant technological leap, delivering 350kW (100kW more than before) and a top speed of 320kph. They’re also the first formula cars to feature front and rear powertrains, doing away with the need for rear hydraulic brakes. This may not sound like much when pitted against an F1 car that can generate over 745kW of power, but Formula E cars go from 0-100km/h in under 2.8s. That's very quick indeed.
The 2.83km Hyderabad track set up in the heart of the city showcases the best of what Hyderabad has to offer. The cars took laps around Hussain Sagar Lake, NTR Gardens, NTR Park, and Prasads' Imax, covering the necklace road.
Hyderabad is in round four of the championship, Ds Penske’s? Jean-Eric VERGNE won Formula E’s first race in India by ending the race with 0.00% energy remaining in the car. Saudi Arabia hosted two races in January after the season opener in Mexico.
Formula E regards India as a huge market and hopes to have a long future in the country. "It took us too long to get to India. We will be here until they want us," Formula E co-founder Alberto Longo said after marking the 100-day countdown to the race.
In conclusion, motorsports continue to captivate and thrill audiences around the world. Whether it's the high-speed races, the technical precision of the drivers, or the camaraderie and sportsmanship among competitors, there's something about this sport that just keeps drawing people in. As we look forward to future events and seasons, let's celebrate the winners, anticipate the excitement, and appreciate the passion and dedication of everyone involved - from the drivers and teams to the fans in the stands. Motorsports are a thrilling and dynamic part of our world, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for this?exciting?sport.
