As we know, ChatGPT is a chatbot operating on Artificial intelligence. It uses an algorithm that selects words based on the results of scanning billions of text fragments across the internet. ChatGPT is commonly used for text generation, translation, summarization, Q&A, etc.

As a digital marketing postgraduate student and social media content creator, I am one of those who use ChatGPT frequently. I often use ChatGPT to understand a lecture better or get new content ideas. It gives me a perfect overview of the topic and makes it easier to understand the concept. If the subject is too complicated, I can ask for more straightforward explanations and get the chance to simplify the explanation to learn and research an unfamiliar subject easily with the summary I get from ChatGPT.

?How can we create effective "prompts"?

Creating effective prompts to get answers is one of the most critical points of working with ChatGPT. In my queries, the topics I pay attention to are as follows:

  • I try to concisely phrase my question and limit it to a specific topic. I get more accurate answers when I ask straightforward questions about a particular topic or situation. "For example, what are the most used hashtags on Instagram in October?"
  • Finally, I try to include sample data or guidance in the question so that ChatGPT generates answers based on more concrete examples. For example, what content should I focus on in October besides Fall and Halloween?
  • I try to ask the question in the proper format, e.g., "How can I do it?", "When is it used?". Asking how to do something specific, when to use it, or why it is important helps me get more specific and informative answers.?
  • I try to get a step-by-step answer from ChatGPT on each question by breaking complex questions into multiple steps or sub-questions. ChatGPT provides a more detailed and organized answer when the question is broken down.

?The great thing about technology is that it is very dynamic, and we can learn something new almost every day. As a digital marketer, I follow recent trends closely, such as AI and Machine Learning. I have subscribed to "Social Media Today" and "Mailchimp" newsletters to follow ChatGPT updates closely. In addition, I've also subscribed to the "Artificial Intelligence" newsletter on Linkedin, which shares news about AI twice a week. Apart from the newsletters, I also attended the "Artificial Intelligence, Deep Learning, and Machine Learning" group on Linkedin. Thus, I can better follow AI updates from the LinkedIn homepage.

Elevating Digital Marketing strategies with ChatGPT and Human Touch

ChatGPT is a beneficial technology if used effectively. It gives us the initial ideas about creating content for a brand, digital marketing strategies, personalization and segmentation ideas or examples, social media management, e-mail marketing, and many more. Furthermore, ChatGPT can be much more efficient with human guidance. Although ChatGPT provides fast results, ensuring that the strategy it creates for a brand is fully aligned with its objectives is difficult. Moreover, an example of a very successful segmentation may not fit the brand's current goals, so humans should analyze all aspects of ChatGPT's response to ensure it is aligned with the brand's objectives and strategy.

Although AI benefits the digital marketing industry, my only concern would be AI's potential to deliver much faster results than human capabilities. However, human power is needed to analyze the data received from AI and make it accurate and suitable for the brand's strategy and current expectations.

Knowing that AI is a part of our work, I think digital marketers should focus on data analysis to get the most out of it. The more accurately and quickly we interpret the data we receive from ChatGPT, the more compatible we will start to work with it. In addition, we need to adapt rapidly to new technologies and changing marketing tools and keep up with the updates closely. Technology will continue to develop every day, and people should not be left behind to be a part of the evolving technology and invest in themselves to have a successful career.

?I firmly believe that the digital marketing industry should harmonize ChatGPT with the human factor instead of replacing it. As a result, the brands will benefit by getting maximum efficiency from this harmony.
