Are you a student seeking knowledge? An avid reader hungry for diverse stories? Or simply someone who appreciates the power of African literature? This is?the story of?Brana, an African Literature audiobook platform born in #Ethiopia but carrying literature from all over Africa!?

"I am a book enthusiast. During the Covid-19 pandemic, I had some challenges accessing African literature in both physical and audio formats. As a person?with a profound love for reading, I prefer audiobooks as they allow me to immerse myself in the stories while multitasking. This longing for African literature?content ignited my entrepreneurial spirit. As a result, the concept of?Brana, an audiobook platform dedicated to African literature, was born," said Natnael Tilaye , the founder of?Brana.?

With a team of dedicated individuals, the?Brana?team set out to do just that. They began producing audio readings of African books, ensuring the content?represented the rich diversity of African voices, stories, and literary culture.

Brana?quickly gained momentum, attracting eager partners to contribute to the platform's growth. The team forged collaborations with numerous partners?globally to source content and enhance the quality of the audio recordings. This expansion allowed?Brana?to offer an increasingly diverse range of content?and engage a broader audience.

"I believe that our impact extends beyond the realm of business. Our greatest asset lies in its profound impact on the community and putting light on the?authentic knowledge and culture from the minds of Africans" said Natnael.?

Launched just about a month ago with over 300 users already accessing?Brana?through its user-friendly app and website, the platform is successfully?addressing the issue of low literature availability. Moreover,?Brana's?audiobooks are more affordable than printed books, making them accessible to a?broader audience.

Natnael's vision for?Brana?extends far into the future. He explains; "In the short term, we aim to make?Brana?a household name for African literature,?attracting more users and expanding the content library. In the long-term, we aspire to witness the transformative impact?Brana?could have on the entire?African continent, providing access to literature and empowering Africans to embrace and celebrate their own stories."

As an entrepreneur in Ethiopia, Natnael acknowledges both the opportunities and challenges that come with it. He has his own learning experience. Joining?the BIC ETHIOPIA ?programme?proved to be a turning point for the business.?

The four-month?programme?provided valuable insights and guidance enabling him to;?

1.Facilitate the audiobook platform better and reach Ethiopian and African students.?

2.Build a unified company culture and understand the importance of human resources management.?

Today,?Brana?stands as a symbol of revolution and change in the world of African literature. Its unique selling point lies in its exclusive African content.
