Revitalize Your YouTube Channel: The Problem/Solution Method

As a business owner, if your YouTube channel has been just sitting there collecting dust, it's time to breathe new life into it. With a staggering 2.7 billion monthly active users and 1 billion hours of content watched daily, YouTube isn't just a platform – it's THE major source for information and entertainment. In fact, it's the world's second-largest search engine and second most-visited website after Google. For businesses, being active on YouTube isn't optional; it's crucial for staying competitive in the digital age.

But where do you start?

I get it, you don't have hours to invest in a video. But if you have 20 minutes, I can give you the blueprint to a series of videos that will give your channel new life.

Best part: ANYONE can do this.

Problem/Solution Method. This approach involves creating targeted videos that address specific issues your audience is actively seeking to resolve. It's an effective way to attract views, with 70% of YouTube viewers using the platform to solve problems. Answering questions is something you do everyday in your line of work, but instead of one-to-one, you're now answering one-to-many by just using the video option on your phone!

To implement the Problem/Solution Method:

  • Research: Utilize YouTube's search bar as a free tool. Begin typing relevant keywords and observe the auto-complete suggestions. These represent real queries people are searching for.
  • Select your topic: Choose a problem that aligns with your expertise and has significant search volume.
  • Create your video using this formula:

Hook: Clearly state the problem you're addressing (Start with a question. Example: "I just inherited a home I don't want, what do I do?", or "What are my options once my car's lease is up?")

Story: Share a personal anecdote about a client who faced this exact issue. Describe how it affected their life, focusing on the emotional impact.

Answer: Provide a clear, valuable solution to the problem (Use the 3 or 5 step answer method)

Call-to-Action: Encourage viewers to subscribe or explore related content

Remember, consistency is key. Commit to a realistic posting schedule, even if it's just once a week. YouTube favors channels that post regularly, with consistent uploaders seeing up to 20% more views on average.

By consistently providing value through Problem/Solution videos, you'll not only revive your channel but also establish yourself as a trusted resource in your industry. Consider this: 90% of people say they discover new brands or products on YouTube. By solving problems, you're not just creating content – you're opening doors to new business opportunities.

Don't let your YouTube channel languish any longer. Start solving those specific problems today and watch your audience – and your business – grow!

And just a note, this is something Digital Legend does on a daily basis with businesses that are looking to make an impact in their market. So if you need help, reach out!

Hey David, this is a nice reminder for everyone who hasn't been posting videos lately. I would also add that YouTube may disable monetization on channels that haven't uploaded a video or posted in the Community tab for six months or more. And it happens quite often, people with YouTube channels just stop publishing and are clueless about their potential losses.
