Revisiting 113 N. Hawkeye in Nora Springs

I made a point to be up earlier than normal today, and only because I had strawberries to get picked, and knowing I wouldn't have time during my work hours, I spent a little over an hour getting them all picked and sent to the fridge. Once cleaned up and readied for work, I still managed to arrive at office at my regular time.

My first appointment was to meet with a seller to get a purchase agreement signed, and once that was done, I headed over to an attorney's office and dropped off the necessary documents needed to get that transaction moving forward. Knowing the buyers want to close as early as possible, I made sure everyone involved had what they needed, just so there'd be no waiting on me.

We had a price reduction today on a home I have listed, so I'm now revisiting 113 N. Hawkeye in Nora Springs which is an exceptionally well cared-for three bedroom 1 ? bath home that's located in their charming older district. I'm actually surprised we haven't had an offer on it yet because there've been others over there which offered less and sold for more. Being next door to a church, supplies more privacy and elbow-room between those two structures, so if you know anyone looking for a rock-solid home in Nora Springs, please tell them about it.

Most of my afternoon was spent over at Clear Lake where I was taking new photos and visiting with the owner of my lakeshore listing located at 5256 Lakeview Drive. Tonight's photo is one I took while standing on its dock which offers any given buyer more of an idea of its size and lakeside views, and if you'd like to see more, just click on the photo, and let the slideshow begin. While standing out there looking up at the home, I could sense there was a whole lot of loving-care that went into making that home what it is today. Gosh, I sure wish I could've taken the afternoon off to simply soak it all in. There's no question, someone's gonna have a fabulous home to create lasting memories.

After I finished up with the seller, I stopped at the offices of Clear Lake's Mirror Reporter, just to get some ad space purchased for the home. I dare say my first impression of them, was far better than what I'd been getting from the Globe Gazette. I also found their pricing more in line to what I used to pay the Globe Gazette, but unfortunately their prices have been noticeably higher. Truth be told, I can't remember the last time I got any good leads out of any sort advertising I've done with the Globe, so perhaps those Mirror Reporter's ads will create new and lasting business for my office. While there, I took the time to page thru their weekly newspaper, and for sure, it's definitely a local news-oriented paper which is exactly what our city needs instead of all that 'fill' the Globe Gazette gets from the Associated Press which just about anyone can find for free online.

One my way back from Clear Lake, I stopped at Fleet Farm to see what they were selling at half price, and about the only thing I could find, were two small Buttercup squash plants which I'll be getting in the ground. I haven't grown any for a number of years, so hopefully they'll do well enough to where I'll have enough to share with a friend of mine who'd rather eat Buttercup squash than potatoes. I purchased several packages of beet seeds which I'll be planting in a bare spot behind a fence, just so the deer don't eat them.

Before heading home, I spent about fifteen minutes practicing a piece I was given to play over at First Congregational Church this coming Sunday. I'm slowly getting it cracked, and once I've played it for their members, I'm hoping I'll not be called upon to play it ever again. Having been loaded up with those tried and true hymns over these many years, playing such a hymn, seems almost foreign to me. I'm almost certain there won't be many if any of their members singing along, which for me, ends up being a waste of time and effort.

Tonight's One-liner is: In the end, the only people who fail, are those who do not try.
